We come on the ship they call the Mayflower / We come on the ship that sailed the moon / We come in the age’s most uncertain hour / and sing an American tune

I don’t know a soul who’s not been battered
I don’t have a friend who feels at ease
I don’t know a dream that’s not been shattered
or driven to its knees
But it’s all right, it’s all right
We’ve lived so well so long
Still, when I think of the road
we’re traveling on
I wonder what’s gone wrong
I can’t help it, I wonder what’s gone wrong

I’ve heard that Paul Simon is not very nice, in person, but I’ve always believed he is one of the most talented songwriters in modern history – and a very talented musician as well.

In Dallas back in the 90s I had a much younger coworker who went to his girlfriend’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. He was shocked when Paul Simon walked in with Edie Brickell, who happened to be the sister of the girlfriend. I don’t know what sort of man Simon is, but I would love to have been at that table.

Well, he’s a native New Yorker. From what I’ve heard he’s not that bad, rated on that scale.

At least the lyrics are beautiful. It was a different time. Forty-six years ago, last century.
Ace had a short example of Rapper Cardi B new ‘song’, “WAP”. I understand that is a big ‘hit’ among the young today. I was previously unaware of the artist and the song, I could have done without that enlightenment. Take my advice, don’t google it. Just don’t!
