True but Forbidden: From Schiffing themselves to smart factions of the 18th century

Shhhhh…Just Let the Democrats Schiff Themselves Impeachment is super popular…in Brooklyn, Washington and Santa Monica.

The savvy play is, of course, to run up the popular vote total in New York, D.C. and California because, of course, the popular vote picks the president. Just ask Her Highness Felonia Milhous von Pantsuit if you can catch her between hearty swigs of screw-top Trader Joe’s Chardonnay. But impeachment isn’t so popular in places like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. In fact, it’s downright unpopular. And extendo-impeachment games are not gonna help.

See, the snooty UK smart set decided that the people were wrong when they voted for Brexit so it decided to obstruct the will of the people and, moreover, decided that the standard bearer for the ruling caste should be some wiggy commie weirdo. The normals poured out to vote and utterly humiliated their betters by electing, with a huge majority, the wacky outsider who promised to stand up to the liberal elite and do what the people demanded.

Yeah, but who cares what happens in Great Britain? It means nothing. After all, it’s not like Britain and America share some sort of special relationship.

Trump’s been doing that to the Dems lately. He’s been warning them they’re screwing up. He’s been telling them he’ll crush them in 2020. They won’t listen. They can’t listen. And so, they can’t get off the tracks before the Trump Train crushes them into pink pinko goo.

Raconteur Report: These Aren’t The Droids You’re Looking For Okay, let’s play that game. What’s the defensive capability of any police station you can name?

When I storm it with those same 40 guys, kill everyone there, steal everything I can use, and burn what I can’t, how many more police are you going to need to protect the station house, and every other one you have, 24/7/365? Who’s going to defend the police when I shoot them off duty getting a burger? Who’s going to defend their families when they get killed and kidnapped while Officer Friendly is out oppressing the peasants? (You think their women and children will be off limits if mine aren’t? Sh’yeah, you should live so long. The peasantry will make wind chimes out of those kids’ skulls, for sport, by Week Two. Bet money on it. Tape recordings of their families’ dying screams will be broadcast by PA at the police station daily. Videos of their torture that would make an Apache blush will go viral. So when you have zero cops at work by Week Three, who’s going to stop me from doing the same thing to their masters holding the leash?)

There Is Only One Superpower | Xi is showing a face of China that most abhor.

Beijing is grabbing territory from neighbors, closing off the global commons, and proliferating nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles. It makes common cause with a host of bad actors, such as genocide-committing generals in Burma and misery-creating autocrats in Latin America. Even Beijing’s friends recognize it has chosen the wrong path.

The Great Cover Up When the Romans started making exceptions to republican governance,

it was a matter of time before someone simply decided the rules no longer applied to them. Perhaps the robot historians will consider Obama our Marius or Sulla. Maybe that person is in the near future. Either way, the rule of law is over and what comes next is the rule of men.

Does American Mainstream Media Have a Death Wish? Journalistic ethics have gone the way of the Betamax player.

There are a number of theories as to why this has happened. Some hold water; some do not. However, only a fool could fail to see that American journalism, as typified by the mainstream media, is failing. Newspaper after newspaper has shuttered their doors. (In my own state of Ohio, one of the leading newspapers, The Youngstown Vindicator, simply gave up the ghost and went out of business.) Others have been swallowed up by media conglomerates. (The Columbus Dispatch itself was bought up by Gatehouse Media and then became part of the merger with Gannett Media.)

Had Enough Therapy?: The End of a Decade That Peloton ad,

the one with the attractive young man offering his attractive young wife a high end exercycle, suggests that these wealthy young people should not be going to work, should not be thinking about how to solve problems, but should escape from their daily travails and their daily crises by pretending to cycle up the Matterhorn.

The world speaks English with an American accent and absorbs American law in the new realms of commerce such as intellectual property. It gobbles up American gadgets like iPhones, communicates via U.S. social media, watches entertainment Made in Hollywood, and aspires to send its young to Caltech and Stanford. Russia’s cultural power is nil, and China’s is still miniscule.

The United States can play at any table in the global casino and then with the largest pile of chips of all of them. China and Russia cannot. They are strong enough to flex their muscles regionally, as in Syria,

but not equipped to play a global game. All told, the contemporary system is not unipolar, but neither is it truly tripolar. China and Russia form the base of the strategic triangle while the EU and China do so in the economic one. Yet the United States represents the apex of both. So much for the snapshot.

Maverick Philosopher: Trump’s Space Force The very notion that outer space could be reserved for wholly peaceful purposes shows a deep lack of understanding of the human condition.

Show me a space with human beings in it and I will show you a space that potentially if not actually is militarized and weaponized. Man is, was, and will be a bellicose son of a bitch. If you doubt this, study history, with particular attention to the 20th century. You can bet that the future will resemble the past in this respect. Note that the turn of the millennium has not brought anything new in this regard.

Doxxing the lawmakers worked quite well in a 2013 Connecticut to send a “message.” Hopefully a Virginia patriot working in the DLAS (dlas.virginia.gov)

is already thinking about information collection, anonymous dissemination, and other 4GW information techniques that live up to the state motto. Once that information is in the public sphere…others will make proper use of it.

One way of viewing the revolutions set off by the Enlightenment is that they were the result of idle smart people.

The American Revolution and the French Revolution were led by smart fractions. In a world of global oligarchs, where the smart fraction is coalescing outside the ruling fraction, the result will be increasing social unrest. The great populist revolt of the past decade is probably just an appetizer for what lies ahead in the new world order.

That 6 pack of whoop ass always looks better BEFORE it is opened.

  • Gordon Scott December 26, 2019, 10:28 AM

    Yeah, Ghost, three times yea.

And to be honest, I really wonder about our armed citizenry. Our young folks have a significant cadre of experienced warfighters, and many of them urban warfighters. But what of those who didn’t serve, who went through our Marxified K-12 education system? Are they going to pick up a rifle and stand post?

I’m older, no one depends on my income. Well, okay some do, somewhat, but it’s not like I have kids at home. I’m the guy who can go on top of a building and snipe until the mortar shell ends it. I’d consider that a job well done. But I’m not sure how many guys are willing.

As Solzhenitsyn wrote, more or less, if a few squads sent out to make the arrests didn’t come back to HQ in their Black Marias, things might have been very different in the USSR. But everyone hid behind their doors, praying the goons weren’t coming for them, this time.

My young son (55) & I often play with a gray ghost squad, mission applaudable, idea; When the SHTF, who do you want manning the barricades, running stealth do and die missions, young kids?

Nope, otta be old farts, with prognosis terminal: “OK Clem, the doctors just gave you a 3 month sentence, mobile the next two weeks, wired, tubed, lubed, wrapped and strapped in a hospital bed after that for the, short, rest of your life, sound like fun? Looking forward to it? Want an alternative? Have I got a deal for you, how’ed you like to save the world?”

  • ghostsniper December 26, 2019, 12:12 PM

“But I’m not sure how many guys are willing.”
    ============
    Right there. It’s pivital.
The real question is, “Who’s gonna be first?”, cause when the levy breaks it is every man for himself, and everybody is gonna jump onboard.

Think of the last half of Claire Wolf’s famous words, “…too early to start shooting the bastards”. Somebody, somewhere, will be the first patriot to stand up and say enough is enough by drilling a communist and that will be the first domino to fall, followed quickly by many more. Think about the pebble in the pond as it ripples outward. The closest patriots will instantly assemble on site with others clamoring to that which beckons. It will be unholy. They truly don’t know/care about what will be unleashed.

  • Hale Adams December 26, 2019, 7:11 PM

    Ghost, et al,

I “get” the part about wanting to shoot the bastards — I was in the Army once upon a time, long long ago in a galaxy far far away, and I remember the oath I took. But we have to be careful about indulging in too much “revenge porn”.

Sarah Hoyt (a writer of science fiction) has what I think are wise words to say on the subject of shooting bastards. Please overlook the occasionally fractured English — she was born and raised in Portugal in the last years of the dictatorship there.

The last paragraphs are especially pertinent:

“The idiots and their shampeachment and their socialism-gargling candidates are nakedly, in the full light of day, trying to destroy everything we are and everything we believe.

“Understand they’re doing that, because they’re desperate. They’re insane with anger. Baffled that what they’ve always done is suddenly not working.

“And they’re losing. They’re losing at pretty much everything and showing themselves as incompetent ass clowns in the bargain.

“Taking this thing hot now is to give them a dignity they don’t deserve. Do you remember the end of Princess Bride? Let them stay alive and listen to the laughter of derision, and know the Republic lives past them, and that we’re still Americans. Let them know they failed.

“Now, should the elections go sideways with truly massive naked fraud; should they try one of their clever idiot tricks to put say Nancy Pelosi in as president, well then… the situation will be different then.

“But we’ll have done all we can to preserve the Republic, first. And then if we lose it, it remains only to keep the idea alive till another generation can pick it up.

“Take no counsel of your anger. It is not a wise counselor.

“As much of the Republic of Laws as is lost, it was lost before I was even born. And yet, even flawed and maimed it is the best thing humanity has ever created.

“Take no counsel of your fears. They’re lousy counselors.

“Yes, there will be reverses, there will be battles lost, but we’ve turned the corner on the culture war. It is as yet a small and tentative corner, and most of our youngsters are still indoctrinated into oikophobia and socialism. But it is changing. In something as big as a culture, in a country as complex as the US, it takes time to change.

“Speaking out is not glamorous. And yes, it will cost you many things.

“But before we consign the last best thing on Earth to the chancy flames of revolution, don’t you feel we should give the current cultural revolt a chance to succeed?

“We can always have heads on pikes tomorrow. But once we’ve set the country on fire, we can’t get it whole again.”

    Hale Adams
Pikesville, People’s still-mostly-Democratic Republic of Maryland

  • Uncle Mikey December 27, 2019, 7:26 AM

We’ve gotten it whole before. And if at least some people don’t hang, we’ll have to go hot. I hate it as much as you, believe me. But the law can’t be ignored as it has been. There have to be consequences, real ones, or “winning” won’t mean a goddamned thing.

  • ghostsniper December 27, 2019, 10:59 AM

@Hale, while I’d like to agree with Miss Hoyt I believe she is unaware of how HOT things are out there. Probe a bear with a pointy stick long enough and he’ll shit you out the next morning. These american communists have been poking for a very long time, most of the past century or so.

I’m suggesting that you look at this from an individual perspective rather than a group view and you’ll get an idea of the touchstone I am alluding to. You’re sitting in your favorite chair watching the toob after supper and the front door blows in and 15 jackboots storm in and shoot your dog, fondle your wife, steal your guns and vandalize your house, and beat your ass within an inch, like happens every dam day of the year here in these United States. At what point do you stop being a cupcake? After they shoot your wife? Or before?

Over the past 8+3 years normal people have been pushed past the breaking point. I believe the gov’t thugs are going to keep on pushing and a patriot somewhere will finally say enough is enough and snap. The gov’t thugs will try to steal his guns and cage him. He will kill some thugs and injure some more and he will be backed down into his bolt hole – no one comes in and no one leaves. Local patriots will assemble in mass, and the ripples will spread out. The lone patriot will be surrounded by gov’t thugs who will be surrounded by other patriots. The war has been smoldering for awhile and the thugs (VA governor and attorneys) are throwing gas on it. Of course it’s going to explode. Science.

Hale Adams, thank you for that most fitting word and link! She seems a good resource. It led me on to these memes: “Oft evil will evil mar” and “Often does hatred hurt itself.” not to mention “The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones;”. The contagion of mimetic rivalry towards unbridled violence that Rene Girard is rightly revered for highlighting is broadly afoot in the land. It will take restraint and right action to steer the ship through the storm and hard rain a’comin’.

Peloton…soon to be parked in the corner of a laundry room, holding shirts on a hanger waiting to be ironed.

Cops busting in doors for gun collection…Not likely around here. Most of the cops I know are rednecks like me. They would not be kicking in doors to pick up someone’s old single shot 16 gauge in this AO. I cannot imagine any cop or group of cops that would want to be part of going door to door for civilian gun collection. Not unless they were wanting to cash in on their life insurance.

  • ghostsniper December 28, 2019, 1:55 PM

@Snake, do the cops around there bust people for any reason at all?
Anybody can be bought and gov’t employees can be purchased much cheaper than regular citizens. They are already used to the yoke and the easy money.
