True But Forbidden #1

Today’s Cultural Engineers: The arbiters of taste loathe their audiences. |  Journalism ranks among the most politically correct American institutions. As reporting grows more professionalized and credentialed, the industry has become overwhelmingly progressive; barely 7 percent of U.S. reporters are Republicans. The digital revolution has accelerated the trend. Against expectations, the electronic age has seen media consolidate in fewer centers. A once-vibrant regional press is emasculated as official opinion aggregates in London, New York, or San Francisco. It’s no longer important whether an important viewpoint or creative work “plays well in Peoria,” but rather, what the buzz is in a handful of “woke” cities.

. . . Our great national achievement – fashioning a common citizenship and identity for a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-racial people – is now threatened by a process of relentless, deliberate Balkanization. The great engines of social life – the law, the schools, the arts, – are systematically encouraging the division of America into racial, ethnic and gender separateness. – Charles Krauthammer in 1990

Nil Desperandum – The human race always seems to survive, and although it’s going to be hard, it might outlast such things as Meek Mill, Flipp Dinero, Fat Joe, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Durk, G-Eazy, Dua Lipa, Pusha T, Offset, and others of their ilk. What are these strange names? I took them all off the gossip columns of the New York Post. Apparently, they are famous and are written about and make millions saying the f-word into a mike. Once upon a time, you read about Winston Guest, and Howard Cushing, and Jock Whitney, and Babe Paley. Now you read about media-empowered charlatans such as the above and also Marshmello and Busta Rhymes. Which means the world is improving. Especially when one hears the theme song of rapper Zi Savage, “F–k N—a Bitches.”

Shithole Countries? What Shithole Countries?

The de-cluttering chronicles : The first step in Warren’s new de-cluttering programme, is to get Marie Kondo out of your life. This is the underfed-looking, perpetually smiling, ridiculously cute young Japanese fashion gurvi who, after taking a course on how to write a self-help bestseller, wrote, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. Now, we are alerted, she has written an illustrated coffee-table version, under the title, Spark Joy. According to my informant, this latest installment includes instructions on how to fold underwear and shirts.

For most of his presidency, an exasperated and harried President Obama tweeted incessantly that the FBI surveillance and special counsel investigation were constantly marked by leaks to Fox News and the conservative press on irrelevant issues and unproven stale gossip—such as old 2008 Obama campaign finance violations; ancient allegations that Michelle Obama had received favorable treatment at her University of Chicago hospital job once Obama had been elected senator; fossilized stories that Obama had still not paid taxes on the Rezko discounted gift of tangential property; tired narratives that in Obama’s prior senate campaign the sealed divorce records of both his primary and general election opponents had been mysteriously and unlawfully been leaked and published; new revelations that Obama’s own autobiography was little more than a mythography of composite sketches and made up narratives; and insinuations that ongoing scandals at the General Services Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, IRS, and the Environmental Protection Agency might have cross-fertilizations with the special counsel investigations. Racy elements within the fabricated so-called McCain dossier such as unproven drug use, alleged manic chain-smoking, and libelous, unproven personal liaisons, would be favorite gossip of journalists. Should the FBI Run the Country? – American Greatness

The Radical End | That’s the curious thing about what we are seeing from the Left. They have a firm grip on all of the institutions of the empire. They control the mass media. They control the administrative state and the education system. Global corporations are now run by people deeply invested in virtue signaling. The days of the Left having to pressure big business to do their bidding are long over. Big business is the vanguard of the Left now. Despite this, the Left is running around trying to scramble all of the rules.

I Don’t Want No Satisfaction Our founding fathers, who had read Aristotle, carefully chose their words when they said that American citizens had, “the right to pursue happiness.” They knew that government could not give anyone happiness, but that it most certainly could take it away. The Constitution was written not to give people happiness but in an effort to prevent the government from taking it away from its citizens.

We must be careful to make a distinction between the intellectual and the person of intellectual achievement. They two are very, very different animals. There are people of intellectual achievement who increase the sum of human knowledge, the powers of human insight, and analysis. And then there are the intellectuals. An intellectual is a person knowledgeable in one field who speaks out only in others. – Tom Wolfe

The Bad Old Days It was about 3 A.M. when Kerouac and I left together. He walked me to the subway station in Sheridan Square and we parted with pleasant words which stood in the sharpest possible contrast to the ominous parting words Ginsberg had flung at me a few hours earlier just as I was leaving his apartment: “We’ll get you through your children!”

Pinker, Progressives, and Plastic in our Oceans | Most Americans I know would rather live in the 1950s; most Malians during the great empire of Mansa Musa; most Venezuelans in the epic period of “La Venezuela Saudita”; most Congolese under Belgian rule; most Italians (if they consider it) under the tremendous period that was the glory of Rome. The Greeks look back upon their Agoras from their food lines and wonder what went wrong; the Iraqis to Babylon – and the list goes on. Oh sure, we have better widgets these days – technological advances which progressives mistake for progress.

Woodpile Report Who said these things? Some guy Louis Farrakhan keeps in the attic because he’s too wacko to run around unsupervised? Ah, but no. Read on.

Killing some white people isn’t genocide; it’s killing some white people

We had to kill some white people to get out of slavery. Maybe if we’d killed more during the 20th century we still wouldn’t talk about racialized voter disenfranchisement and housing, education, and employment discrimination. This should not be controversial.

Fighting white people is a skill.

You have to get used to fighting White people. It takes practice.

Blacks kill Blacks because they have never been trained to kill Whites.

Answer: University of Georgia philosophy Teaching Assistant Irami Osei-Frimpon , a Member Of The African-American Community, summa cum laude with oak leaf cluster. Replace “white” with “black” and the staffer would be instantly fired and disavowed, the place would be burned to the ground and the university prez would crawl through broken glass in tearful supplication. Frimpon is still employed and lionized for his bravery.

We are, each of us, alone. And this is the first law of masculinity. And it is the most important law. Your value is equal to the value which you bring to the tribe. We are not equal. You are not special. Respect is earned, not given. Your brothers will not love you unconditionally for who you are, just being yourself. They will criticise you, push you to your limits, bring out the best in you, and give you their respect when earned. And this isn’t shocking at all. This is common knowledge to any man. Your childhood is over. The boy is dead. It’s time to be a man for the rest of your life.” ― Jack Donovan

Comment by reader “Lost My Shorts” at Zero Hedge about article “New US Intelligence Study: China “Already Leads The World” In Key Weapons Technologies” When the Chinese design and build weapons, they design and build weapons. The Americans, meanwhile, are too busy reducing the number of white men on the design team, and monitoring everyone to make sure they use the right pronouns, and me-tooing the men who weren’t pushed out for some other reason, and making sure enough women and racial, aboriginal, marginalized, cultural and sexual minorities are present in every phase of the project, and retrofitting the restrooms to be gender neutral, and making sure the project plan is culturally sensitive and not heteronormative. It’s amazing anything flies anymore. Diversity is our strength.

House of Eratosthenes Liberals have the reputation of ruining everything, because they want to implement something they haven’t tried themselves…everywhere, from sea to shining sea…forever…with no opt-out plan…no back-out plan…no sunset. And not even so much as a hint that it’s the right way to go.

Notice we’re not even deliberating here whether it’s good to ban drinking straws, to impose unrealistic demands on utilities to use “green” energy, to put Lara Croft in long pants, to expel college students for wearing pro-Trump hats, to tell us how many cartridges our weapons should be able to hold or what days we can water our lawns, to increase the minimum wage or marginal tax rates. It’s got to do with how the rules are imposed, not what they are. Liberals don’t like this reputation they have. I wouldn’t like it either. But I don’t feel one bit sorry for them.

The White Man’s Burden: Reflections on the Custodial State | Fred On Everything The growing panic surfaced in the recent stripping of honors from James Watson, co-discoverer of the DNA helix. His sin? He said that the measured gap in intelligence between blacks and whites is genetic. For this he was silenced. It is science by fiat, Lysenkoism. The hostility to genetics springs entirely  from the fear that Mr. Watson will be proved right–that it will show blacks to be less intelligent than whites.  Of course the politically correct don’t really believe in the intellectual equality of the races. If they did, they would welcome genetic research as a way of establishing the equality. You do not fear investigation unless you suspect it will give the wrong answer.

Look, without averting your gaze, at our many cities in catastrophic and apparently irremediable racial dysfunction. Look at Boston, Newark, Camden, Trenton, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, Milwaukee, New Orleans, St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Oakland. These are the center of mass of black America, not the polished talking heads of the networks. These regions are huge, necrotic, barely touched by white civilization except through television. In eight hours of driving through them, you will never see a white face. The culture is not ours, the language, notions of civility. Another world. It doesn’t change. Apparently, it can’t change.

The Anatomically Correct Banana As with “diversity,” “Westernization” makes everywhere the same, and in this deeply ironic way, the communistic impulse to characterless uniformity is expressed through consumer culture. Neo-liberalism is by far the most significant threat we’ve yet to encounter specifically because like communism it comes pre-packaged with an ideology that appeals to basic (or base as the case may be) human instinct, but even more insidiously neo-liberalism is able to take root because it provides material comfort and because its rhetoric is so “soft” and treacly. It works on a deep perversion of certain feminine or feminized instincts.

The Evil Clowns | The urge to believe in something can be so great that people can sincerely see things that aren’t there. The social media obsession with racism and toxic masculinity eventually turned the Covington boy’s “smirking faces” into the new Evil Clown sighting of 2019.

The 2016 clown sightings were reports of people disguised as armed evil clowns in incongruous settings, such as near forests and schools. The incidents were reported in the United States, Canada, and subsequently in other countries and territories from August 2016. The sightings were first reported in South Carolina when a 9-year-old boy told his mother that two suspicious males dressed as clowns tried to lure him into the nearby woods.[6] By mid-October 2016, clown sightings and attacks had been reported in nearly all U.S. states, 9 out of 13 provinces and territories of Canada, and 18 other countries.
Like the Clowns the “smirking faces” are everywhere, if you know where to look for them. Over there! There! As Noah Berlatsky wrote in an NBC opinion piece “white children are everywhere, but their whiteness is too often invisible and unspoken.” Now hardly anyone can believe there weren’t any supremacists taunting the drumming native American in the first place. If the Evil Clowns are absent surely there is some explanation. The Huffington Post, in their story House Intelligence Committee Looking Into Tweet About Viral MAGA Hat Teen Video says a high level committee is looking into dark forces.

Facecrime – The New Neo The Orwell quote describing it:

It was terribly dangerous to let your thoughts wander when you were in any public place or within range of a telescreen. The smallest thing could give you away. A nervous tic, an unconscious look of anxiety, a habit of muttering to yourself—anything that carried with it the suggestion of abnormality, of having something to hide. In any case, to wear an improper expression on your face (to look incredulous when a victory was announced, for example) was itself a punishable offense. There was even a word for it in Newspeak: facecrime, it was called.

Facecrime. That’s the offense the howling Twitter mob accused 16-year-old Nicholas Sandmann of committing. The fact that these people were purposely misled by propagandists doesn’t excuse them, because even if he had been smirking at a Native American elder playing the drum in his face, what’s the enormous big deal that would justify physical threats against him and his family?

MOTUS A.D.: A Donkey Can’t Change Its Stripes

Whoopie Goldberg: Why is that? Why do we keep making the same mistake?

Joy Behar: Because we’re desperate to get Trump out of office.

I was hooked by: Should the FBI run our country? Then, when I saw that it was VDH writing it, I became even more interested.

The FBI is my number one floating anxiety and fear source. After the Bonnie & Clyde style rub-out of a cow rancher on a snowy highway in Eastern Oregon, my own strange encounter with a special agent at the turn of the Millennial clock, and now after the deep-state soft-coup against POTUS, I am a very crime-free citizen with fear of the govt. If I see them actually doing their job, I am flat-out amazed.

My own idea is that the FBI needs to be wholesale replaced by a new agency, and in the turnover they need to be treated with a just prejudice. How many crimes have been committed by the FBI? Clinton files? Clinton investigation bunted? Trump investigated for political reasons? Fuck me.

My tip off on government power was Ruby Ridge. Then Waco, Timothy McVeigh, and TWA 800. The crash of 2008 was a major coup.

  • Casey Klahn January 23, 2019, 7:34 PM

No, Ulysses. No, sir. I am not speaking conspiracy theory today. Never did.

WACO was certainly a slaughter that looked like overkill. Was Ruby Ridge? I have no idea. I feel the Elian Gonzales thing was a storm trooper wet dream by the government, and any sane observation of janet reno puts her in the category of nefarious. If we observe policing like Clinton/Obama going forward, some bad shit will happen. I agree with that. I am scared to death of the stupid red flag laws going forward. But, I am firmly planted. No bilderburg bullshit for me, thanks.

The crash of 2008? I saw the econ downturn in 2007. And I’m not an expert, just using my necktop viewport rather than the anal-level one.

Just trying to keep it afloat. The shithole countries thing. Gotta love that! Only Trump could’ve given us that truth-nugget.

Looking at Project 1 up at the top, I imagine Miss Olive is carefully collecting all of Gerard’s hairs that she can find in his comb or the bathroom sink, or even plucking a few while he’s asleep . . . all to craft a human-hair paw puppet. Not that she needs to go to that length; she’s had him wrapped around her editorial paw for some months now.

I liked the Orwell quote and comment about facecrime, but …

Folks, one more time, “1984” isn’t supposed to be a how-to guide.

  • Bones January 24, 2019, 11:21 AM

The FBI is a study in mission creep. When formed, it was to provide the DOJ an investigative arm for areas that were not reachable by state or local law enforcement. Indian reservations and other Federal areas were its mission area. Hoover expanded the Bureau to be the behemoth it is today.
Relegating the FBI to those areas would be a start.

  • ghostsniper January 24, 2019, 6:10 PM

“…the FBI needs to be wholesale replaced…”

    No.
You can’t undo what’s been done.
You can only prevent it from continuing.
