So the first question is, “Am I going to try to freehand this?” And the answer is, “Yes.”
And the next question is, “Am I going to do a good job?” And the answer is, “No.”

Maybe she was born with it. Maybe it’s Valvoline!
These folks make it look easy. Great attitude, no cussing or nonsense. Love the channel. The link is to one of the most insane recoveries I’ve ever seen. And they make it look easy.https://youtu.be/r8IfXPm9zrU
In our twenty’s we did lots and lots of BIG trail 4×4, Rubicon, Sierra trec, most of calif legendary off road gigs. Did it in a box stock 1979 Toyota Landcruiser, with a two inch lift. Still have the Toyota, what we learned is slow steady wins the day. “Top still on”
Can’t tell you just how many high horse powered rigs we passed with snapped axles or drive lines, while we dig it, we opted to stay old school, work the problem, find a reasonable solution, not bum rush it.
Jeep vs cruiser cruiser vs Jeep arguments are amusing. It’s the nut behind the wheel who gets the job done. I’ve winched many of both up tough hills, AND been winched by others aswell.
The Calif Rubicon has become a freeway two way traffic, cut outs, a joke compared to what it was in the 70s, early 80s. Dumbed down for those less adventurous.
Some of these new build rigs are awesome. We have a couple young men here, who are making a decent living wielding ecto skeleton roll cages on the exterior of the crawlers, looks cool, no idea how many lives these exterior roll cages have saved.
Funny thing about the cruiser is, it was my daily driver for thirty years! Drive to the trail, do the trail, drive home. Giant cooler full of beer, maybe a little food, a tool box, tent bags, and the essential CD music selection
I miss my youth! But then I believe we all do.

its kinda hard to believe that Gerard watches this channel. That stretchy rope does amazing work
I am with you in your admiration for people who know how to use tools to create, repair, and maintain things. They are not appreciated enough.
Got 30 seconds in and bailed.
The 16 yo eye candy.
Ah, but that YouTube post that Jim posted. Almost didn’t watch because “long.” But what a post; held me throughout. And what men. Maybe we’re not finished yet as a nation. Not quite yet.
@Mike, there are pockets of truth scattered throughout the fruited plain and those are the things that will succeed no matter what.
