Mitch McConnell: President Trump’s Nominee to Replace Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Will Receive Senate Vote

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Makes Arrogant Dying Wish

“Just days before her death, as her strength waned, Ginsburg dictated this statement to her granddaughter Clara Spera: ‘My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.’” [Suspiciously apt and probably just a bit of political theater]

In regards to Ginsburg written dying wish: I guess we won’t get a new supreme court justice til at least 2024, since Trump is going to be re-elected in a landslide.

    Regarding Ginsburg, somebody’s paying attention.
I won’t shed a tear over that terrible fossil.

The dood at the top is copying James.

Re: “My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.

Like her or not, the seat she held on the Supreme Court has never belonged to one person or party. A Supreme Court Justice should be the last person to hold an opinion on who should be on the Court. Also, one would think that someone who has risen to her level would know that presidents aren’t “installed”.

Schmucky to Republicans on ob’s nomination of Garland in 2016 to the Supreme Court……
    “Do your job.”

Me today to repubics……’Do your job”
For once I agree with Schmucky!

“Like her or not, the seat she held on the Supreme Court has never belonged to one person”

if we don’t follow her wishes it’s, like, lese majeste.

WTF is this “last wish” bullshit? Death isn’t some genie that gets you a posthumous “wish” that you get to inflict on a entire nation.

  • azlibertarian September 19, 2020, 8:47 AM

Also, I guess this needs to be explicitly said again, since so many on the left are getting it wrong.

Cocaine Mitch is being absolutely consistent with his actions in 2016. When we lost Scalia in our last presidential election year, we had a President (in his last term) from one party and a Senate from the other. In that circumstance, Mitch said “The Senate waits until the election.”

Today, we have totally different circumstances. President Trump is in his first term and the President and the Senate both come from the same party.

Politics ain’t beanbag, and Mitch is playing the hardball that we expect him to play. Not coincidentally, the D’s are playing hardball too….they’re threatening/promising that the next time they take the Senate that a) they they will do away with the filibuster b) they’re going to “pack” the Court to replace (or at least balance) what they believe are two of “their” lost seats and c) they’re going to admit DC and Puerto Rico as states, giving them more left-leaning Senate seats.

“Win or lose, gentlemen, I can cover my bet. As you can see, I’m all in. Let’s see your cards…”

Speak well of the dead, the US is a better place since she’s no longer a Justice. May she rest in peace.

Not so fast…not so fast. It might be in Republicans interest NOT to get a seat on the bench at the moment. We all know that the Dems are going for the win through theft…Trump will crush election night.. but the networks won’t call it… they will wait weeks while votes are manufactured… and then they will go to court.

but with the SCOTUS down to 8…I think Roberts will side with the Conservatives. Normally I would say no…because I think just like Jim Mattis, the Deepstate has dirt on him. But in this case… if Roberts sides with Libs 4-4, he’s virtually assuring a civil war.

No matter the dirt on him, he’s not going to want to be that guy. I expect that he will go 5-3 with the other conservatives, after which the true 5th conservative can be seated.

I hope you are all filling out your dance cards with Progtards to eliminate in the coming festivities.

The Left is oozing bile over the vacancy and Trump has tossed out the idea of nominating a woman for the seat. In other news, Pelosi is again talking impeachment if El Presidente’ moves to fill the seat before the election and AOC and some other mf’ers that should be lined up and shot, are chewing on the idea of expanding the number of justices on that Court.

If someone could snag Hoffa without a clue, why are these two still walking around? Concrete and a single 55 gallon barrel for two is just not that expensive.

  • Geo September 20, 2020, 8:16 PM

Sorry Chris, I wouldn’t ever trust Roberts with a decision that important. He has showed his colors before. He has proven that he will avoid any controversy of “his” Court at all cost.

I don’t think the repubics will pull off a confirmation before the election, but having Trump nominate someone will help them.

If they vote and confirm the nomination with the possibility of “lame duck” Senators ( who have lost their race, after the election) and vote on the nomination before leaving office…….

They (the dems) will absolutely lose their shit on that one, but at least those Senators don’t have a election hanging over their heads. Hopefully they would do the right thing. Some of them are on shaky grounds right now.
