I just received an audition selection notice in my hotmail inbox, for the 2021 remake of this film!!
Do you think I should show up?

Or you could just not watch or listen to the crap. You want peace of mind? Turn your TV off, stay off your computer. Go walk your dog , cat, wife or husband.

Life’s about choices, make good choices, live a rewarding life. Make poor choices, kill yourself worrying about fantasy football, fantasy govt!, who cares what “they”say, what they do.

Nothing is real now, money’s fake, foods fake, electric cars are a fad, FYI, please don’t plug your E car in on hot days, some poor slob in LA won’t be able to keep his crib down in the 60s.

End of the day, we’ve all been taught the difference between the truth and a lie, right from wrong.

The United States is still the best place on this planet!, far more good things going on then bad.

True story: once upon a time, a guy my husband used to work with – white collar, overeducated, leftist (but then almost everyone there was leftist by default), snob – actually said, “I don’t want to have to think about what’s happening in the world. I just want the news to tell me what to think. That’s why I listen to NPR.”

You’re dating yourself when you wrote “we’ve all been taught…” Many of us have, many of those in power do not understand such things; they lie repeatedly, they commit wrongs with impunity ( so far) and they are destroying the United States. Willfully, with malice aforethought.

I felt like a big nerd reading every WW II book I could get my hands on as a youth.

Now, I’m mad as hell at my peers who did not read the books. I had no idea, at the time, how universal the urge to dictate is amongst (I never use “amongst,” but this time I will) degenerate politicos.

Random arrests. Well, we are in an environment where a middle class majority citizen may be arrested for things that the elites look past if committed by “pure” citizens and even illegals. VDH noted that there are 2 laws in the central valley in California: one for illegals and gang members, and one for normies. In downtown Seattle, a druggy homeless man may steal, trespass and violate ordinances to his heart’s content. You: don’t jaywalk there or else. hell, I’m being too soft on Seattle. Actually, you may march in the streets armed with an M-4, occupy city blocks for an extended period of time, loot and trash, bully and mug…if you are a Lefty.

You’re fooling yourself if you don’t realize that we are in it right now.

There are certain places you shouldn’t be, and you know better.
    Figure it out.

“One had no time to think….” Can anyone tell me what that meme above is taken from? I don’t immediately recognize the text.

They are from a book on the way that the Nazis took over Germany, “They Thought They Were Free”

An appropriate quote and book for Independence Day.

Also, available from Univ of Chicago Press; which contains an excerpt (worthwhile reading) –

    https://press.uchicago.edu/Misc/Chicago/511928.html

Note the cover was changed – previously red with a black swastika; I expect it was too offensive for today’s “sensibilities”. I hope the original content has not been edited.

All of those interviewed are alive today manifest with a variety of different skin tones in the flesh of the generations that chose wilful ignorance, yet all are again able to rationalize their behavior – seeing nothing, following authority, regurgitating sound bites, afraid of being ridiculed and ostracized. … This book should be mandatory reading in JHS. … Alas, K-12 is all about teaching “conformity” and these interviews are too honest to fit that pedagogy.
