The Natural: A Bedtime Story

After the jump, C-SPAN covers Trump’s return from Walter Reed to the White House. This clip is interesting for the usually unseen detail of Marine One landing at the White House and settling in with the various “men on the White House roof” with binoculars scanning for any threats to Marine One.

Follow the landing there’s a long sequence of Trump mounting the stairs to the balcony and holding there for an extended photo op to establish the fact that the leader of the Free World is in good health and back at the office. This clip is interesting to run full-screen to see details of Trump’s expression and carriage.

Just when you thought we might get a break…
Right on cue, this from the CDC:

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has now acknowledged on its website that COVID-19 can be spread by airborne transmission. In an update Monday to the website detailing how the virus can be transmitted, the CDC now says coronavirus droplets can remain in the air for hours.

“Some infections can be spread by exposure to virus in small droplets and particles that can linger in the air for minutes to hours. These viruses may be able to infect people who are further than 6 feet away from the person who is infected or after that person has left the space,” the CDC website says.

Next step: destroy Thanksgiving and Christmas. Just watch…

Did anyone else notice that the President stood at attention and saluted the aircrew who brought him back to the White House.

We and our and thank you to all the people who participated in his hospital stay is a fresh look from a political leaders, a far cry from Teh One who was always I and Me.

  • Checkers October 5, 2020, 9:16 PM

He looked good.. A bit short of breath from climbing the stairs. Gutsy move,, could have passed out from the exertion. Covid patients are generally tired and short of breath for a while. He certainly knows the theater involved in being the leader of the free world. Basically he stood there and said, “bring it”.

  • PA Cat October 5, 2020, 10:48 PM

Good to see him remove the mask at 5:25. And yes, it was good to see him salute the aircrew.

  • gwbnyc October 6, 2020, 1:25 AM

“Covid patients are generally tired and short of breath for a while.”

I had the virus in the middle of March, was told a couple weeks ago I probably had it in January when I experienced a morning of extreme fatique, got better, but my energy level never got all the way back- not horribly lacking, just not there.

the quote is correct, and milage will vary per individual.

Terrific poise and composure. As mentioned, he looks a little short of breath, but showed the world that he is strong and continues to fight for the American people.

28 days….what other curve ball can be waiting for a second October surprise?

Make that curve ball”S” and you’ll be more accurate.
These animals aren’t done yet, far from it.
You aren’t used to thinking like you need to in order to understand what these people are capable of.
The best way to deal with savages is to attack them with worse savages.

    On Trump:
Cool, calm, collected, poised, confident, affirmative, assertive. In control.
He pushes an invisible wheelbarrow holding an enormous and potent set.
Trump turned the “Chuck Norris” move loose on that virus.

The media is out of control now, Trump pushed em all the way over the edge and they are frantic.
In the coming days the media will reveal more and more of it’s real self.
It’s gonna get ugly as teeth are bared and claws exposed.
Trump will stand firm, and yet still advance forward into the fray, kicking asses and taking names.
By Jan Trump will have stomped a mudhole in the communists asses and then walked it dry.

In my dream I see the Trump organization creating a new media hub that entails all forms of media based in the idea that truth matter above all else. Good, bad, or ugly, truth MUST prevail in all things. This, TTM (Trump Truth Media) will serve as a stark example of what a media establishment should be. Finally people will have a source to depend on for news as it should be rather than the pathetic children’s fairy tales that the mainstream media has become.

And buttoned his suit coat before doing so. Habit? Sure. Habit to show respect.

  • John Venlet October 6, 2020, 5:55 AM

Ghostsniper, your adjectives well describe on Trump looked, and I’ll add one more, Trump looked determined.

As to Trump’s appearing short of breath, hmm, I don’t know, his breathing gave no indication, to me at least, of being labored. With that said, President Trump has been under constant barrage since the day he was elected. Consider the fortitude this man has, the burden of anti-Americanism he is battling, he has basically been surrounded by enemies of America since he was elected, but he continues to show no sign of surrender. Could you soldier on like Trump has under such conditions?

  • jwm October 6, 2020, 6:11 AM

Well said, Ghostsniper. And I couldn’t agree more on the media. A whole lot is hanging in the balance, now. I always say: If Truth is not the highest value, then the highest value will be something other than Truth. It isn’t hard to discern the highest value of the Adversary. It is power, raw, cruel, and total. We are one click of the ratchet away from losing everything.

    Excellent point John.
Trumps “stick-to-it-iveness” is absolutely gargantuan in scope.
Not only has he scaled numerous huge obstacles, but did so under an overwhelming barrage of horror, disarray, and outright criminality the likes of which the political establishment has never seen nor wrought before.

After the tremendous display Trump has shown over the more than 3 past years there is no way any sane, logical person can utter any sort of negativity at him, and those that do are broadcasting their complete insanity and necessity to be eliminated from the American experiment as undeserving.

  • EX-Califonian Pete October 6, 2020, 8:00 AM

    THAT’S OUR PRESIDENT!
Getting tougher and stronger every day.
THAT is the type of man who can spend EVERY SINGLE DAY working hard to Make America Great Again while getting severely attacked by the evil Liberals EVERY SINGLE DAY, and still do an excellent job.
As my late parents used to say, “The guy is 9 feet tall and bulletproof.”

    MAGA!

    “Determined”, yes!
Fortitude, yes also! The history books should show in future days that this president withstood constant attacks and an enemy within the nations borders and he carried on.

To JWM’s point, “we are one click of the ratchet away from losing everything”, more Americans had better wake up to that reality.
I had an interesting conversation with a woman business owner recently. She was quite sharp and a big Trump supporter. Her comment that resonated most with me was, “people don’t realize we could become Venezuela in a matter of months.” I congratulated her on this astute observation. Few outside of the world of the business owner / operator grok this.

And it is a strong dose of truth that American media should be broadcasting. We can be like Venezuela too!

Venezuela was, not too long ago, the wealthiest Latin American country in the Western Hemisphere. They had vast oil reserves, a great tourism industry with beautiful beaches, luxury hotels and was a destination for cruise ships bringing wealthy Norte-Americanos and their dollars. Then the fucking commies took power and stole the oil, killed the jobs and now everyone is starving there.
If you want a view of the Biden-Harris dream of America’s future, look no further than Venezuela.

jwm, re: CDC website. None of that applies to “mostly peaceful” protests. For you see, my friend, this is an anti-racist virus. It can tell the difference between our racist, fascist Thanksgiving celebrations and the pure-at-heart looters and rioters.
