From the compulsively collected image bank that I maintain so I can “catch up.”
A foolish thought since I try to become more cynical every day but of late who can keep up?

Who Am I? by Carl Sandburg
My head knocks against the stars.
My feet are on the hilltops.
My finger-tips are in the valleys and shores of
universal life.
Down in the sounding foam of primal things I
reach my hands and play with pebbles of
destiny.
I have been to hell and back many times.
I know all about heaven, for I have talked with God.
I dabble in the blood and guts of the terrible.
I know the passionate seizure of beauty
And the marvelous rebellion of man at all signs
reading “Keep Off.”
My name is Truth and I am the most elusive captive
in the universe.
Duty, Beauty, Liberty, Country, Honor, Family, Faith — Plus a few simple easy to follow rules for guys
The Vault
Take It Where You Find It
Men saw the stars at the edge of the sea
They thought great thoughts about liberty
Poets wrote down words that did fit
Writers wrote books
Thinkers thought about it
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
Many’s the road I have walked upon
Many’s the hour between dusk and dawn
Many’s the time
Many’s the mile
I see it all now
Through the eyes of a child
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
And close your eyes
Leave it all for a while
Leave the world
And your worries behind
You will build on whatever is real
And wake up each day
To a new waking dream
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Change, change come over
Change come over
Talkin’ about a change
Change, change
Change come over, now
Change, change, change come over
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light

Where is Pastor Greg Locke’s church located?
His Twitter feed reveals correct answers to two important questions proper thinking Christians should consider.
Ah yes, the strange D’Illustrated is a good reminder of what’s important.
I’ve got at least two cords of firewood bucked, split and stacked, I’m almost ready for the coming winter.
Now for some target practice….
It’s hardly fair to put just one panel of Gray Claw in here with no link, when the whole episode really deserves a look.
Gray Claw

Yep. I have been amazed by what the Brazilian guys have been doing – artwork storyline, the whole deal, just really well done.
Sorry, no. Rev. Locke is in clear violation of the Third Commandment, Ex. 20.7. In the KJV it says, “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.”
That does not mean merely not to say G**d***it. It means not to use God to justify vain, or self-centered, purposes. The NRSV captures this better than the KJV, “7 You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God … .”
Rev. Locke is very clearly using God, or his presumptive (but false and biblically unjustified) faith in God to (a) make a political statement and (b) proclaim that because he is so faithful, God will protect him and his flock from Covid. Jesus specifically said that was not true, though obviously Jesus did not refer to Covid.
Tell ya what, Rev. Locke – hop a flight to Kabul and start proclaiming the Gospel in front of its largest mosque. Why not? God will protect you because of your faith, yes?
I disagree completely.
And your last sentence seems to be irreverently mocking the man.
So you disagree with him. Well, I disagree with you.
Would it be appropriate if I responded in kind to you and said “Tell ya what, Donald- hop a flight to my area and start proclaiming your opinions to me, in person, at the local Dojo, bare knuckles and no protective equipment for a couple 5 minute rounds. Why not? Whatever you believe in will protect you, yes?”
No. That would not be appropriate.
Rev. Locke: “God helps those who help themselves”.
And BTW, Thomas Paine was not a patriot. He was a traitor, or possibly a seditionist, and if the Rebellion had failed he would have been hanged. Next to the rest of the treasonous rebels.
Patriotism means defending your country from its’ government.
Rev. Locke is very clearly using God, or his presumptive (but false and biblically unjustified) faith in God to (a) make a political statement and (b) proclaim that because he is so faithful, God will protect him and his flock from Covid.
Donald, I think you are making a presumptive statement, here, regarding Rev. Locke’s stance on what is protecting him and his congregation. As I read those lines of Rev. Locke, I interpreted them as making a statement that he and his congregation have rejected fear in favor of faith. Does not Jesus Christ himself instruct believers to “Fear not?” I think that Rev. Locke is categorically rejecting the lies about this Gain of Function Flu (manmade), and the panic porn hysteria which has psychologically attacked Americans and individuals throughout the world with the complete support of the MSM and government bureaucrats who bend elected leaders ears with lies. Rev. Locke is definitely taking the Lord’s name in vain, as you suggest, Donald. Rev. Locke is proclaiming his faith in Jesus Christ not in vain, but in proclamation that he and his congregation are not living in the way of the world, but in the way of Christian faith.
Correction: This sentence, “Rev. Locke is definitely taking the Lord’s name in vain, as you suggest, Donald.,” should read Rev. Locke is definitely NOT taking the Lord’s name in vain, as you suggest, Donald.
Love your comeback, John Venlet.
Julie, Ghost:
That’s the first I looked at Gray Claw. It won’t be the last. I went and got myself hooked on Avalon, and Midnight’s War, also.
So it is with the smartest guy in the universe. Love him or hate him, when his product is good, it’s good.
JWM
Have you noticed that since the rug was pulled out from under him he hasn’t bitched about boomers one time. funny, no?
Heh – now that you mention it, Ghost, you’re right.
I’m with JWM – when he’s good, he’s great. Plus the Arkhaven project is so much more than just Vox, there’s some really excellent stuff happening there with people I never would have heard of otherwise.
Mr. Sensing. God have us “reason and rational” amongst our tools. God expects people to make reasonable choices. Not even he has the patience for man or woman who ask forty even fifty times a day, which way to turn on Main Street. Or which loaf of bread to choose. God gave us life to live, as best we can.
The preachers response was absolutely appropriate.
Wasn’t it god who said “use me” “use my name” often?
VI
just a thoughton the kakistocracy one i think you should spell/change the word to cacastocracy.
“Cacastocracy” = rule by shit.
Very nice!
I’m happy three of mine made the collection, but a lot of those others are out-freaking-standing, and I wish I’da thunk ’em up firstest.
