Stink
During my second year of high school the school library was closed due to an extremely strong stench. This was for two plus weeks. The staff or someone finally found the stench emitter and after airing out a while the library reopened. Every single book was checked for the cause. At least twice.
No one was told what the stench was or where it was found. But the people who ran the library were not happy.
An upper class student (Junior) was expelled for a few weeks. He would not say what he did or what concoction he used to create such a powerful stink. The guy had a great sense of humor and was a known practical joker.
The last day of his Senior year he got back at the administration and library personnel in a big fashion. Impossible to prove he was the culprit.
That story is too complex to get into now. And some details are not clear in my memory.

Liquid fart spray is OK, but if you really want a seriously offensive, long-lasting, and putrid odorant, I recommend Thioacetone, although it’s costly and hard to find, but Ethyl Mercaptan is pretty available, not as expensive, and is hilarious to use- as it’s also one of the odorants used in (otherwise undetectable) commercial flammable gasses.
A great time-delayed stink bomb we used as kids was to buy a half dozen medium goldfish, put them in a glass jar about 1/6th full of water, screw the lid on tight, and then put it in a heating duct or car trunk. The jar will eventually rupture from the heat and gasses caused by decomposition.
It’s unbelievably putrid, and has a very long lasting effect.

Much beer was consumed and one unlucky dude fell asleep for a while. Several salmon carcasses were wrapped in newspaper and put under the front seat of his car. It was July. I think the only way to fix that smell is to drop a match on it.

@PA CAT, there have always been odd people among us, I suppose, but over the long span of time there have been consequences for oddity. They generally kept their proclivities to themselves and the rest of us were none the wiser for the most part and life went on happily.
I have never understood the rationale behind wearing clothes of the other sex and never even wondered about it. In the past I have known 2 men that, as a joke, dressed up as women on 2 different occasions. I wasn’t present when this took place but I still felt uncomfortable about knowing about it and a rift developed between myself and them. I didn’t really want to be around people like that. No fear. Repulsion. Yes, even though it was “just” a joke. They, the 2 doods that cross dressed, chose to change the dynamic in our relationship and that change became permanent. They were now “odd” in my opinion.
There are some things you just do not do. Ever. No matter what.
Over the past, say, 30 years or so, with HUGE help from the media and gov’t, odd people developed a voice and in keeping with their oddity their voices are oddly loud and shrill. These odd people suffer no shame so shunning them just makes them louder and shriller, and the gov’t makes life difficult for people that shun them. This in turn makes the oddities even louder, boastful, intolerant, and even violent to those that simply want to have nothing to do with them. You, Mr & Mrs Normal, don’t get to choose who you associate with and by choosing to disassociate with select people you are potentially committing a crime. The oddities can now force you to put up with their nonsense.

Liquid fart spray is OK, but if you really want a seriously offensive, long-lasting, and putrid odorant, I recommend Thioacetone, although it’s costly and hard to find, but Ethyl Mercaptan is pretty available, not as expensive, and is hilarious to use- as it’s also one of the odorants used in (otherwise undetectable) commercial flammable gasses.
A great time-delayed stink bomb we used as kids was to buy a half dozen medium goldfish, put them in a glass jar about 1/6th full of water, screw the lid on tight, and then put it in a heating duct or car trunk. The jar will eventually rupture from the heat and gasses caused by decomposition.
It’s unbelievably putrid, and has a very long lasting effect.
Years ago a crew from the liquid (liquor) store I worked at had a cookout. One of the guys was also USAF and had come back from TDY in Alaska with salmon, which we filleted and grilled. Much beer was consumed and one unlucky dude fell asleep for a while. Several salmon carcasses were wrapped in newspaper and put under the front seat of his car. It was July. I think the only way to fix that smell is to drop a match on it.
@PA CAT, there have always been odd people among us, I suppose, but over the long span of time there have been consequences for oddity. They generally kept their proclivities to themselves and the rest of us were none the wiser for the most part and life went on happily.
I have never understood the rationale behind wearing clothes of the other sex and never even wondered about it. In the past I have known 2 men that, as a joke, dressed up as women on 2 different occasions. I wasn’t present when this took place but I still felt uncomfortable about knowing about it and a rift developed between myself and them. I didn’t really want to be around people like that. No fear. Repulsion. Yes, even though it was “just” a joke. They, the 2 doods that cross dressed, chose to change the dynamic in our relationship and that change became permanent. They were now “odd” in my opinion.
There are some things you just do not do. Ever. No matter what.
Over the past, say, 30 years or so, with HUGE help from the media and gov’t, odd people developed a voice and in keeping with their oddity their voices are oddly loud and shrill. These odd people suffer no shame so shunning them just makes them louder and shriller, and the gov’t makes life difficult for people that shun them. This in turn makes the oddities even louder, boastful, intolerant, and even violent to those that simply want to have nothing to do with them. You, Mr & Mrs Normal, don’t get to choose who you associate with and by choosing to disassociate with select people you are potentially committing a crime. The oddities can now force you to put up with their nonsense.
Regarding the Hitler stuff. That stuff happened 70+ years ago and is just now engaging my radar sweep and is testimony to what I said above. There have always been odd people but they were mostly subdued, by self and by others. Now, the opposite is true.
Time can be considered a sort of linear clock and it has a pendulum. The sweep of the pendulum varies with the ages but it always at some point reverses and swings the other way. This time around, when the pendulum reaches it’s apogee, there will be a terrible comeuppance delivered to the oddities that flagrantly failed to respect the rights of others. A heavy price will be paid by all that incurred the debt.
