A Sane Man speaks out: “You can’t “out progress” evil. Two things can be right at once: a gun can be used for evil, a gun can be used for good.”

THE MOST OF IT by Robert Frost
He thought he kept the universe alone;
For all the voice in answer he could wake
Was but the mocking echo of his own
From some tree-hidden cliff across the lake.
Some morning from the boulder-broken beach
He would cry out on life, that what it wants
Is not its own love back in copy speech,
But counter-love, original response.
And nothing ever came of what he cried
Unless it was the embodiment that crashed
In the cliff’s talus on the other side,
And then in the far distant water splashed,
But after a time allowed for it to swim,
Instead of proving human when it neared
And someone else additional to him,
As a great buck it powerfully appeared,
Pushing the crumpled water up ahead,
And landed pouring like a waterfall,
And stumbled through the rocks with horny tread,
And forced the underbrush–and that was all.

Beneath the Aegean
When all Earth’s seas shall Levitate,
Dark shawled within the skies,
Upon our eyes will Starfish dance
Their waltz of Blind surprise.
The sun will Rise within wine Dark
As Argonauts imbibed,
Whose drunken arms embrace that sleep
Where Phaeton’s horses Stride.
Upon all of Earth’s wind-sanded shores,
As dolphins Learn to soar,
All we once were on the land
Shall be sealed behind the door
Of Ivory and Chastened Gold,
That the Mystery solved complete
Shall never til the seas’ Long fall
Wake mariners from their sleep.
— Van der Leun
Your Say
Song of Myself
I CELEBRATE myself, and sing myself,
And what I assume you shall assume,
For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.
I loafe and invite my soul,
I lean and loafe at my ease observing a spear of summer grass.
My tongue, every atom of my blood, form’d from this soil, this
air,
Born here of parents born here from parents the same, and their
parents the same,
I, now thirty-seven years old in perfect health begin,
Hoping to cease not till death.
— Walt Whitman
Shall I part my hair behind? Do I dare to eat a peach?
I shall wear white flannel trousers, and walk upon the beach.
I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each.
I do not think that they will sing to me.
I have seen them riding seaward on the waves
Combing the white hair of the waves blown back
When the wind blows the water white and black.
We have lingered in the chambers of the sea
By sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown
Till human voices wake us, and we drown.
— The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T. S. Eliot

This guy is fantastic! Finally – a sane argument for dealing with the realities of these terrible events.
That is Colion Noir, he’s excellent. He’s a lawyer, gun rights activist and he’s with the NRA.
I endorse everything he said; but then, I’m also in the NRA and a gun rights activist, so that makes sense!
What has more metal, a tablet or a glock?
MORE gov’t employees with guns, eh?
Why does anyone send their kids to gov’t run shooting galleries?
Been following Colion for about three years. Found him off a link at Hickok45. This is his most brilliant statement by far. He’s hated by all the right people.
I am thinking @ how the govt failed so miserably at Parkland that it makes our argument for us. The FBI, which is the highest echelon law enforcement in the nation, and the sheriff’s dept., who are the most local authority, failed utterly. The school already was under a total gun ban, I am sorry to say.
My point is that the best echelon for defense is a personal one. The kids themselves are probably 99% incapable of that level of responsibility (perhaps in the Fifties, there may’ve been 10% capable of this in Florida, and perhaps 15-25% so capable in Wyoming and North Dakota), and so that leaves the closest level of responsibility with the administration and the teachers.
There are military veterans on the staffs of every school in America. We are such fools for resisting the plain answer to school defense, and it is because of the liberal mindset that brooks nothing short of total disarmament of the population as the only answer. While they’re at it, the libs may as well go out and sweep up all of the stars in the universe; such is their level of OCD. These are the people who walk down the street in NYC, and pick up every piece of garbage they run into. It’s their job, you see.
If you think I’m joking, consider their approach to global weather. They know exactly what will happen, and they have all the answers for the weather. BTW, how is your thinking today on the races? What are your thoughts on women? Homosexuals? The Left is particularly interested in what you think today.
Oh. I forgot. We need to defend our kids in school…
The control freaks may be overstepping their bounds:

Jordan Peterson makes Casey’s point eloquently, and understands profoundly the personality damage that causes leftists to project their inadequacies onto everybody else. Absolutely not to be missed.
This is an excellent rational look at the current frenzy to bring more insanity into our lives.
BUT, let me tell you my take on liberal thought. Since the liberal’s currently being mentioned solution to the abundance of noxious addictive drugs is to de-criminalize them, I am waiting for Pelosi or Maxi Pad to make a crazy eyed statement about how we need to de-criminalize murders in school and how that will stop them!
You need people with guns at the point of attack. Metal detector, yeah. That will create a line at the metal detector. The killer will kill the kids standing in line. Because you are 100% correct, these guys are thinking and planning and adapting and kids are always late to school, lines will form, target of opportunity.
We all need to be a hard target. Don’t get me wrong because I think youre right. But metal detectors are not the answer. The only answer is us taking the responsibility to protect ourselves and those we are responsible for at the point of attack. Guvment has demonstrated in the Parkland shooting that it is not up to the task. We are.
“We are.”
======
No, “we” are not. Obviously.
Please note that the (witch) governor of Oregon has signed a new law where Oregon can now confiscate your firearm if it is “dangerous.” That’s right; no due process (FISA-like) and you’re effed of your 2A rights if someone, even a cop, gets an overnight kangaroo judgement based on the simple fact that your firearm goes pow.
I was discussing this with my smart wife and she made the observation that the application of this will be to go after the marginals. That means, people outside of the I-5 and Portland corridor; ranchers, hayseeds, conservatives. The state will pick off members of the herd that straggle.
There are 2 sets of laws. The ones for liberals, and the ones for Americans. Learn it. Live it. Love it.
