Something Wonderful: Oh Sweet Lorraine

This will make your day/week/month/year:

The most genuine country song you’ll hear all year came from the least likely songwriter. Reeling from the death of his wife of 72 years in May, Fred Stobaugh, 96, sought a way to deal with his grief and loneliness. Despite lacking any musical experience, he could hear the song he wanted to sing to her—the melody, the lyrics, the longing refrain—just beyond his reach. The Daily Dot

Gerard, thank you very much for this wonderful video. It’s a shame that so few couples experience the true love that these two must have enjoyed. The heartless, soulless and insincere use of the words *I love you* has degraded many couples real lives together. Fred is a true gem of humanity. Lorraine must have been a true gem as well.

    Amazing.
We’ve been together 36 years and it seems like a lifetime but it’s not even half as long as Fred and Lorraine were together. For that old man, I feel so sad and happy at the same time.
