Something Wonderful: Il Silenzio

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
— By Max Ehrmann © 1927

“Il Silenzio” is a memorial piece commissioned by the Dutch and first played in 1965 on the 20th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands. It was written by Nini Rosso and Guglielmo Brezza.

The clarity of that young lady’s trumpet playing pierces your soul with beauty, a joyful noise, which enraptured me as it did all who were listening to her live performance. Wonderful!

If you listen to this, turn it up!

I agree, turn it up and listen to the clarity. She is an accomplished trumpet player.

The hawks are power gliding and the owls hoot away in the forest as dinner scraps set the table for their prey, a woodpecker sounds like a machine gun while an eagle flies along the river treetops.

This first appeared on the net a number of years ago. I e-mailed it to everybody in my address book and watched it at least 20 times. Here is another splendid performance by a 13 year old Norwegian girl.

Her name is Angelina Jordan and she is going to be a superstar.

A little more from Mijnheer Rieu. And a glimpse of something soon to be lost and gone forever in the West if we don’t all wake TF up: A People.

I am always thrilled to see talent in young people. I love nothing more.
The Netherlands commemorates the 20th anniversary of their liberation. By…my neighbor, Joe E, Mann. He was literally a couple of farms over, but that is about 5 miles away. He parachuted into combat; Operation Market Garden, and a Screaming Eagle private. A private whose shooting skill was developed hunting squirrels, coyotes, and deer. He killed and got killed there to liberate the Dutch and the low countries, and then received: the Medal of Honor.
Fast Forward til now, and you have youth making magic with instruments. It’s a full circle.
