I've said it before and I'll say it over and over until the end of time:
that making nice to the MSM will get them noting but grief, and that it isn’t even necessary. Both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have successfully thumbed their noses at the media and it has paid off for them. I realize the Republicans are in a position that is the polar opposite because the MSM is on the other side. But that doesn’t change the fact that the MSM has become more openly biased and more and more unnecessary, so why bother? - - Why have Republican "debates" at all?

I agree, how about round-table discussions where topics are introduced and the candidates state their positions and informally discuss and argue with each other. None of the blood-letting the msm so desperately desires. Civility and politeness being the operational watchwords. They could do something different you know. Maybe a conservative moderator to keep the thing on the rails. Agreement before hand no gotcha questions. A chance to see how the field distinguishes itself and addresses the issues.

And by the way, re: the "knowing what you know now" question about Iraq, why would any sane Republican nominee give any other answer than "Dude, that was twelve years ago. Next question."?

Why let the moderator pick the questions? Let the candidates pick the question their opponent has to answer. Have two impartial individuals there making sure that the candidate ANSWERS the question.
Maybe these fukknuckles will get a dose of reality.

Watching the debates will be better than watching the Simpsons. I don't like them either.
