The Enemy [Bumped]

On the Attack: Advancing in Buddy Pairs So One Can Load While The Other Fires

Belmont Club » The Assault on Westgate Mall
"Only when the troops forced their way through did they realize that dead bodies, as many as 20, had been piled against the entryway to slow the soldiers’ access."

Lovely touch that. Killing civilians and using them as doorstops. That little vignette describes the earnestness of war, the dead seriousness of it; the kind of all-encompassing condition that it is.
To the Shabaabs, people — someone’s wife, child or husband — were just so many sandbags to be used in a tactical situation. Their attitude exemplifies the total commitment, the mental difference between a man at peace and stone killers at war — with us. Yes with us and make no mistake about it.

Your Say

That picture will be causing nightmares among the legions of the unaware. I either have a profoundly developed tactical sense or I'm paranoid as hell, but malls have always given me the whibbies.

Too many people in a confined space to keep track of. Too many people blissfully unaware of their surroundings. Too many people who feel "safe" because they're surrounded by comforting Disney images instead of the gritty reality of a city street. Too many people for whom this is identifiably their chosen, and probably only imaginable, social experience.

Too many identifiably angry and crazy people with nobody aware of their proximity. Too many people whose eyes tell you that they think this is all television.

Too many people.

Beautifully put, Rob.
I have not yet heard one word about the "what if" scenario of this happening in the U.S. where people are allowed to defend themselves because of conceal/carry laws. Why not? Not one msm outlet has posited that question that I am aware of, not even the blogs I frequent.

The administration obviously failed in that it did not declare the mall to be a "gun free" zone.

This is the enemy, make no mistake. Brutal, cold, heartless. Non-Muslims are only so much meat to them. So are other Muslims if they don't share their religious fanaticism. The only way to deal with al-Shabaab and their ideological twins is to kill them. All of them. That's the mistake we made. We took our eye off the ball, started politically-correct nation-building, and left way too many of these stone killers alive. Now we're paying the price.

While here at home we should probably expect at Malls.--
Little old ladies in wheelchairs to be frisked
Baby's to be frisked
Middle aged white men refused entry
And the ACLU to accompany Gang Bangers and all Burka
enshrouded heads to ensure their rights are protected

This has already happened at a couple of malls in the US, albeit on a small scale, and the shooters were crazies. One was a woman, another a Bosnian. (Muslim) One outside of Philly and the other in Utah. I think there was also an attack in a mall here by someone wielding a knife. But...a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest and we'll be ripe for slaughter.

Not paranoid ranting, not psychopathic mantra,not misanthropic perspective. Rules for survival:

1 - Avoid crowds;

2 - Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill anybody you meet;

3 - Kill anybody you have to ... as soon as you need to.

Anyone who has ever been shot at would not consider this radical advice.

It's events like these that give me an appreciation for the ancient practice of eliminating entire bloodlines. Kill not only the terrorists, but their entire extended families. Pull the weeds up by the root.

You are, Grizzly, of course speaking about progressives?

It is comforting to see the "moderate" islamists up in arms about the shameful behavior or their compatriots. I'm sure the "moderates" or as John McCain pust it "the good rebesl" will soon purge their ranks of these stone killers as they have done since the 7th century. I have to wonder why the Christians waged crusades through the centuries against the religion of peace.

Radical Islamists kill people. Moderate Islamists pray that radical Islamists will kill people.

Posted by: chasmatic at September 24, 2013 5:36 AM

It's about time the word "Islamist" was retired. The word is redundant; the word "Muslim" has exactly the same meaning.

Posted by: Fletcher Christian at September 24, 2013 8:59 AM

Apparently a "moderate muslim" is just a Muslim terrorbot without the conviction of his faith.

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities - but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.

- Winston Churchill, The River War, 1899

If the one true God does not contain their triumphant march, arming their children, what nation, what kingdom will be able to close the doors of the West to them?

- Pope Urban II, 1095
