"Should it really be harder to get a tattoo than it is to get an abortion? "

At first glance the law appears to apply to women and men equally, but surely this can't be the case. After all, we know that a woman has the right to do to her body whatever she chooses without any infringement. Washington DC Proposes 24-Hour Waiting Period For Tattoos

Your Say

Tattoos are stupid and vain but people should be free to do stupid, vain stuff. Abortion is flat out murder of a helpless, innocent human being and nobody should ever be able to do that.

Well, their town is fubar, and the total parasitical losers of low IQ but a surfeit of animal cunning, elected by the idiocracy, have to make it look like they are actually doing something so as to keep their phony baloney jobs.

It's classic behavior of those promoted beyond their level of competence: obsessive and public focus on the inconsequential minutiae (so as to substitute activity for seeming progress); or occasional airy-fairy pronouncements of the general direction (and often different and confusing), followed by a quick getaway to the golf course expecting the subordinates to implement the details.

I think if you furloughed with pay, everybody but the line police, criminal courts, fire, water, garbage, pothole repair and building permits, it would take 6 months before anybody'd even notice. If you laid 'em off, everybody'd notice right away, cuz a whole ton of people just fell out of the middle class and would be back on the suddenly shrinking dole.

Okay Chris, but you know what's coming. That's just your opinion.

To make sure that every woman has equal opportunity for the sacrament of abortion, they're going to try for a 4th-trimester abortion law. Once they get the quick and painless death-penalty formula all put to rights, they'll whisper to the ladies, "If you have to, we know it's a hard decision, but there won't be any judgement, you'll be able to walk away and start fresh. We'll take care of it. Everything will be all right, and you'll be able to feel good about your decision." Government, after all, is just the guys we hire to do some dirty jobs for us.

The Nine Have Spoken. Killing your kids is a Secured Right in our Constitution. The only thing left to debate, is the arbitrary boundary informed by evolving social conventions, of when and where the Right to Life of the child, outweighs the Pursuit of Happiness of the parents. It's not murder. It's the majesty of the Law.

We're tip-toeing around Eugenics here. Yes, a cynical spin on the abortion topic. Murder is murder.

Sometimes a distinction can be made:

The Distinction (excerpt from Elmore Leonard's The Tonto Woman):

“All that stealing you’ve done,” the priest would say, “You’ve never killed anyone?”

And Rueben Vega would say, “Yes, of course, but it was not to commit murder. You understand the distinction? Not to kill someone to take a life, but only to save my own.”
