"Do Ya Think?" Lame Analysis of the Day

Analysis: Nairobi attack may trigger tighter security at malls worldwide| "The deadly attack on a high-end Nairobi shopping mall on Saturday put the safety of malls around the world into the spotlight and could trigger moves to improve security and make it more visible." [And will change absolutely nothing.]

Your Say

It will get citizens used to the idea of having armed guards and/or the military everywhere.

All in the name of our safety.

I was thinking of some home made Muslim jokes to try out: Muslims are so inbred, that when Mommy and Daddy tell their daughter they are expecting a baby, they say, "You're going to be a grandmother!"

Well, I stopped flying because I won't stand for being treated like a criminal while young men of Arab appearance get a pass.

I will have no trouble swearing off Malls, erect a damn mosque there for all I care.

Will Israel accept Congregationalists as immigrants?

Anti-gun factions will set their sights on this issue; it will surely be used to trigger more cries for gun control. Whiners will zero in on the target and take a shot at killing any opposition to it.

The cry of the gun control addicts: "Gendarme, round up the usual weapons for questioning." :-)

"Which is exactly why these staged event happen."

What, you really believe that the purpose of Muslim terrorism is to create popular support for gun control? Really?

@pst13: I think Bill's point is that the terrorists will be quite happy to have people no longer go to malls. Their aim is to disrupt our life in every way possible. First it was 9/11 which gave birth to the TSA. Even if the terrorists never come near another plane again, they will have won because we are so inconvenienced by all the TSA rigmarole that we will forever be reminded of the terrorists. It will be the same thing if we give up going to malls, attending movies, or any number of other daily activities.

If mall massacres come to the USA in a big way, then I could easily see us adopting the practices of a place like, say, Israel. I visited there several years ago. There are soldiers in most of the significant public places, like markets. Even our tour guide, who was not necessarily a soldier, carried a compact rifle under his T-shirt. I'm confident that the Israelis know the most effective ways to deal with terrorists. That's the price of freedom in Israel.
