Curious that the New Yorker article doesn't use Sergei Eisenstein as another example of a great artist whose films often exhibit disgusting morality and a dishonest depiction of history. Well, not that curious...

That splitter looks just the right size for a backpack. Kai might have found it useful a few days ago; fortunately there was a hatchet close by.

This ax is super. One word of caution though, they are super sharp and you need to be very careful when you use it. It is very light weight and you can't use it like a heavier style splitter. Mine glanced off a log that I was splitting and cut the crap out of my leg which required 25 stitches. Used with care and you will find it to be a great tool. Don't let the young ones any where near it.
