"No child left alive." Is Your Local Police Department Using Pictures of Pregnant Women and Children for Target Practice?

What if I told you police in your town could desensitize themselves to the idea of shooting an (armed) child, pregnant woman, or young mother, for just a couple of bucks?
The "No More Hesitation" seriesfrom Law Enforcement Targets Inc. offers exactly that. For less than 99 cents per target, police can shoot at real-life images "designed to give officers the experience of dealing with deadly force shooting scenarios with subjects that are not the norm during training.". ... The company has landed $5.5 million worth of contracts with the federal government. -- --- Hit & Run : Reason.com

I was thinking more of the LA cops who shot up the wrong truck with two women instead of a large black man in it. That's no hesitation. Or as some of us might say, craven over-reaction.

Lon Horiuchi had plenty of time to think about blowing out Vicky Weaver's brains while studying her through his scope as she was held her baby.

Post dorner they are going to need a new target I guess.

Like the police give a damn about shooting innocent people who are not a threat, it happens all the time.

If you are not doing anything wrong, you have everything to fear.

It's not that they don't care. Think, Where do the police often come from? From Iraq and Afghanistan. And what was the training there? If you're suspicious about anything, shoot first, because something out of the ordinary is an IED or suicide jihadi coming at you. When things go down, you play like you practice, and the high-kinetic high-intensity practice in the suck over-rides.

Remember MIB#1? The mil guys blazed away, the cop hesitated and evaluated. Now look at the photo. The firearm is not immediately obvious, a low-contrast scene. If the company sold equivalent pictures without a firearm, or with ambiguous object, then I wouldn't be so concerned, because they are then training the police to assess before coming to position four.

Why anyone in this day and age would be surprised at how cheap life is is beyond me.

Think 47% takers, think livs, think 1 in 6 on food stamps. That's why lives are gonna be cheap. It's going to be the new gestalt of the age.

@Bill Jones--I like that quote. Can you divulge the source so I can add it to my quotations file complete.

It has always been, 'If you aren't wth us, you're against us." There are no moderates.

I guess we're going to have to aim just below the helmet line and make the shots count.

Do you think the cops would mind having their image on a target?

Posted by: Vermont Woodchuck at February 20, 2013 2:45 PM

Vermont Woodchuck,
No, using an image of a police officer would be horrible and a violent act. However the police using an image of a child or pregnant woman is acceptable.

When the police record you, it is acceptable... "if you are not doing anything wrong you have nothing to worry about."If you try to record the police you will be charged with a crime, because the police are always doing the wrong thing and they don't want photographic or video evidence of it.

The police are another example of unionized government thugs. They are not on your side there to help you.
