The status quo gay marriage supporters detest, yet they are cheering Obama'€™s endorsement of the status quo as if it were a watershed moment.

Obama rolls out a half-measure that he "personally"€ thinks gay marriage should be legal, but that it should be up to the states to decide
-- um, isn't that how it is now? California decided, but the federal judiciary intervened.  North Carolina decided, and as of this moment the Democrats still are having their national convention there.  Over 30 states have decided against gay marriage, and a small number in favor (via the judiciary or legislature). -- » #LandOfTheGullible - Le·gal In·sur·rec·tion

Your Say

See, this is where you show you're still a statist at heart, wanting an all-powerful Federal government to just force the people to do what you think is right.

Milton Friedman once said what we really want is a government where the wrong people are still forced to make the right decisions. That happened in this case. Mr. Red Diaper just struck a blow for Federalism, for letting the People decide.

To shack up with who you want is a God-given right. We the People in the several States just have different ideas about how much power and wealth we want to give to our governments to secure that Right, and for whom. The Northeastern States are very free with other people's money. The other States, not so much. Deal with it! This is what a nation founded to secure Liberty looks like. Vive la difference!
