Nothing says a person can't both a victim and a perpetrator.

People who think that open borders are the solution to Mexican poverty

are exactly like the people who thought that more home ownership will make better Americans. They confused cause and effect. Home ownership is not the cause of more responsible, more engaged citizens, it's the effect. Crossing the border isn't the cause of wealth and freedom, the border exists to be crossed because of a difference in wealth and freedom. Give irresponsible people mortgages and they'll just be irresponsible people with debt they can't pay. Bring people from a corrupt and impoverished state to a relatively healthy and wealthy state, and they'll just bring their own dysfunctions with them. -- everlastinggodstopper - Gosh.
