The Right Lawyers for the Right Job

Holder Seeks Help with Special Qualifications: "

The U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division is seeking up to 10 experienced attorneys for the position of Trial Attorney.... The Civil Rights Division encourages qualified applicants with targeted disabilities to apply. Targeted disabilities are deafness, blindness, missing extremities, partial or complete paralysis, convulsive disorder, mental retardation, mental illness, severe distortion of limbs and/or spine." -- U. S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE CIVIL RIGHTS DIVISION, VOTING SECTION TRIAL ATTORNEY, GS-14/15
I wonder if absence of the sense of justice qualifies too.

Your Say

'Cuz there's nothing like a gimpy, fucked up attorney to win sympathy from a jury, right?
Mentally retarded? ummm- how many sub 90 IQ folks have passed the bar? Besides the Attorney General, that is...

Just wondering.

mental retardation, mental illness,

I guess that explains the KSM-to-NYC decision.

Does lack of any semblance of conscience count as a form of mental irregularity? Only compared to society in general,of course, not within the lawyer sub-set.

For nearly a deadce i've been wondering the same thing, in regards to workplace policy for the disabled and mentally ill. This also leads us to how the media especially in Ontario blocks publishing of articles for our society . For over a year straight I've searched for appropriate publications and found a bulletin boards worth of content. Unfortunately as Ontarion's, who run Canada's economy are the last in development for policy, employment and services .. Try finding a psycho analyst in Ontario that doesn't have a couple hundred on their waiting list We in Ontario, certainly have the short end of the stick in comparison to western and eastern Canada . It's a sad state when, I who suffer from bi polar type II had to become my own therapist in nursing my mental health back to a balanced state. Not everyone has the skills to become their own doctor. I give Ontario an F- for a grade in the performance of it's infastructure for the Mentally ill and the Disabled. Severe problems certainly exist and without proper leadership by the Federal and Provincial politicians and also the coalition.
