Klinton in Korea = Krap: "Was Bill Clinton's visit to North Korea worth the time, energy, and prestige? No way." Christopher HitchensPosted by Vanderleun at August 11, 2009 12:36 PM. This is an entry on the sideblog of American Digest: Check it out.
Your Say
Didn't read the Kissinger piece, but one question neither he nor Hitchens seems to ask is- what else did we trade? I'm betting it was something more than a photo-op with Bill.
I admit to having mixed feelings about Clinton and his role in this. It had to be a humbling moment for Clinton to stand next to that worm for photos, which will be around long after Clinton is gone. And, although I dislike Clinton as a man, with every new day of the Obama administration, he looks better and better as a president. One must always remember to ask when judging such things - compared to whom? I'd even prefer Shrillery to King Julian.
A note on the homecoming presser... the journalists acknowledged being happy to be home and then their "thank you" turned into a litany of saints from the Clinton administration - including, of course, "we call him Al" Gore. Not a note of gratitude to their country, without which they would still be just two more starving prisoners within the NKorean workers' paradise as Hitchens describes. Ingrates.
