Plan for the open threads

Neo here.

I’ve read your suggestions, and here’s my plan. I’ll put up three open threads a week on a Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule. Gerard has a vast storehouse of images in his files, and I’ll choose one for each open thread. Every now and then I probably will re-post some previous entry of his, but not of the political variety.

What do you think?

I’ve “pinned” Gerard’s last two posts so that they will remain at the top of the blog home page. To get to each new thread, just scroll down past those two posts. The newest thread will always be just below those two.

I also think I may have solved the overactive spam filter problem, although I’m not sure. Time will tell.

Neo, your plan sounds like a good one, and I heartily endorse it, and thank you for it also. I pray that the loss of Gerard is not weighing on you heavily. God Bless.

I think that’s an awesome idea, Neo. Again, I’m terribly sorry for your loss and ours.

You’re doing great work, Neo, and it is deeply appreciated.

Open topic: yesterday, I commented that heads would roll at the pentagon vis the balloon overflight screw-ups. This morning, Mattis trends on Twitter. I understand he’s admitted to withholding balloon overflights info from Trump, when Mattis was the SecDef. Weave that into the rouge adding of unauthorized troops in Syria, the phone calls to China, the active planning to spike the nuclear football to keep it away from Trump, and the Milley shittalk of Trump after the BLM events, and we have a huge, steaming turd where our military command structure belongs. What began as playground tit for tat (“Biden’s fine; Trump did it too,” said whiny voice) is overnight a smoking shot self-inflicted wound out of the pentagon.

Take-away: you’re the military defense, now, pilgrim. Keep your rifle by your side. General Mattis is a big pink cunt and needs his tunic stripped of its buttons, his sword broken, and he needs to take that long walk out the front post gates.

“Rogue,” not “Rouge”. Unless it’s the general’s eyeliner and pancake make-up.

Thank you, Neo, for what I’m sure must be extra work for you. I very much appreciate still
being connected to American Digest and its community in whatever way possible.

    Excellent Neo!
Casey, your 1st 2 sentences, last paragraph.
Twas ever thus, once you mop the “we the people” shit out of your eyes and see clearly for the first time in your life. I’m using you and your generically. Yes warrior, you’re on your own.

Tonight at supper, during a commercial on Jeopardy, my wife told me she seen something on the web today saying the Grammy’s last night were 95% negro. I asked, “The what?” Never watched any of that shit my whole life. In your lifetime the US is turning into a ghetto.

    Thank you Neo.
AD has been my Homepage for approximately 18 years. Gerard and all his commenters brought a bright new day to me, everyday. A reason to “stay at it” so to say.

    Neo. Great idea.
Ghostsniper, the second America turned its back on God the downward plunge in the outhouse began.

Neo: Thank you for all you are doing. Your idea is a gift to us and I am grateful. Let me know if I can help in some way.

I’ll add my thanks and appreciation, Neo. I like the open thread idea, and I like the notion of aiming topics more toward the universal, and less toward the political. And yet, I’m in two minds as well. I don’t post much on the political, because I don’t know anything that anyone else can’t find out with a quick run through the morning links at Ace of Spades. It isn’t hard to find a comment stream on politics and current events. But I can only find this particular gang of commenters here. I am bone weary of politics, and current events. Right now, I’m looking for soul food. Here.

      Yes.

Neo…..thank you! Alongside the immense feeling of loss of Gerard came the dread of missing the oh-so-interesting crew who can be found in the comments here. Your open-thread will allow the wonderful back and forth that has always been so entertaining and often instructive. It’s a great idea! Your attentive updates are appreciated so much.

Yes, appreciate the open thread continuation plan, Neo. Gerard drew to him a really outstanding collection of commenters. It has always been a real pleasure to read them..

  • Wilfred Ruffian February 7, 2023, 5:57 PM

That sounds pretty good to me.

  • ThisIsNotNutella February 7, 2023, 6:41 PM

    Sounds like a plan!

  • SK February 9, 2023, 2:45 PM

Thank you Neo for making a great effort at what must be such a very difficult time for you. It’s a hard habit to break visiting this site daily. Pleased there will be something to look forward to again.

Do it. And political doesn’t bother me, unless it bothers you. Would like to see the uncensored pix. Thanks.
