Gian Lorenzo Bernini completed this marble sculpture of The Martyrdom of Saint Lawrence in ARSH 1614 when Bernini was FIFTEEN YEARS OLD. Since ARSH 1998 it has been one of the relatively few sculptures housed in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy.
St. Lawrence is one of the most influential and widely-beloved saints of the early Church. He was roasted alive on a brazier (grill). We need his intercession now perhaps more than ever.
I saw that. Every time I see a photo of a Bernini sculpture I just want to go hide my tools. That goes beyond talent, and clear into the realm of a divinely inspired gift. As far as dear old Ann goes, that post makes up for the one about Annette from the Mickey Mouse club. The Annette clip was
cute, and nostalgic, but when Ann used it to take a shot at Janis Joplin singing “Ball and Chain” I just about blew it. Whatever raspy ass saxophone jazz record those kids danced to was as ugly a chunk of discordant noise as ever crossed my ears. With “Ball and Chain” miss Joplin purely OWNED the blues. Sorry soul sistahs.. None of you can hold a candle to Janis’ chops.

Biden being impeached; Trump indicted past, present and more on the way. Those are not equivalencies – just reporting the state of things.
Poland, Belarus, Hungary, Syria, Turkey, Iran, Niger, France and Russia. We sit atop a powder-keg of our own making (meaning the West is rolling downhill like a snowball headed for hell). At this point, even if the Russo-Ukraine is mostly resolved by, let’s say, a re-occupation of the Crimea by Ukraine, the Europeans are horny for war against Russia, and vice-versa. I mean: France and Russia want to duke it out over Niger (doesn’t matter at all what problem in Niger – it’s bigger than that). Russian-Iran want the US out of Syria. China wants a piece of the action.
I want to go on record saying this all falls out of the Biden weak presidency, kind of like the Afghanis falling out of wheel wells on airplanes.

Why haven’t I heard about this before–wth is going on now?
CNN declares Russian and Chinese warships close to Alaska (weren’t the Russians always close?) Also, at the same time it appears there is a standoff in congress with regard to appointing the top man for the Marine Corps and the Army? My past experience with the liberal press tells me that the story about the warships being close to Alaska was done to put pressure on the senate to appoint whoever Joe and Kamala want to lead our military? Am I correct in this assumption?
