O Ruler of the earth and sky
be with our airmen when they fly;
and keep them in thy loving care
amid the perils of the air….
Just go right ahead and stick that 2nd amendment right in your ass.
It doesn’t have anything to do with me.
Shall I count the reasons?
Fine.
I was never part of that “parchment under glass” and cannot be included after the fact.
I don’t get to draw up a legal document and include you in it without your permission.
Nor does anyone else. To do so is tantamount to tyranny, slavery, and half a dozen other horrendous crimes. Anybody suggesting such a thing should be brought up on charges immediately.
ALL of my property is mine to do with as I see fit, just like you do, and nobody else gets to say anything about it.
If you offer me $100 in gold for my 40 year old premium Estwing 28 oz, wafflehead framing hammer and I agree to that, who can say anything about it? And no, you don’t get to stick me with an arbitrary amount of “theft by another name” for doing so. Speaking of hammer. I can holster up that Estwing and walk right into any bank or school in this country and nobody will panic and start imagining all the heads that evil looking claw can cleave. Who would take my Estwing for any reason? Or any of the other 30 hammers I possess? What next, screwdrivers? Socket sets? How about that spiffy set of T-Handled metric torx wrenches sitting on my workbench?
When arbitrary people assume the authority to decide what property you might be allowed to possess consider that the primary piece of property that you own exclusively is your body. If a person decides they can possess your property, in plain language they are claiming they can possess you too. Or any part of you. Recently arbitrary people tried to convince you that they own a small piece of your upper arm and that you should allow them to store poisonous chemicals there by way of a hypodermic syringe, and without reasonable compensation and the chemicals were purchased with money that was stolen from you (your property).
I know, I know, Hyland claims there was ANOTHER parchment drawn up some time in the past, without your permission, that claims you no longer possess yourself and you are now property to other arbitrary persons. Did you agree to this? Let me see your notarized and witnessed legal document stating such.
When you look at that parchment under glass it defines things constantly changing people get to do and not do to other constantly changing people, mostly centered around property rights. Basically, some people get to control the property rights (including your very life) of other people and the other people are just supposed to go along with this.
Imagine your neighbor to the left of you comes over and demands you give him your right arm and becomes physically insistent on to the point that fisticuffs happen and you must kill him. Later, your neighbor to the right comes over and demands your eyeballs and a similar situation occurs, you kill him dead. And on and on. People keep coming out of the woodwork demanding your property, your body, your possessions, your family members, etc. Where does it stop, and where does it start?
I’ve heard that envy is a thing but it is something that I am not familiar with. As long as I’ve been alive I have never wanted what someone else possesses. Elon Musks billions? Don’t want em. Unless he gives them to me free and clear. If Elon came over to my place and laid a billion dollar bill on the coffee table and without a word just left I would not touch it. It is not mine. If he did not claim it I would put it in an envelope and send it to him. I don’t want problems down the line for possessing something that is not mine.
FWIW, nothing in that parchment under glass has anything to do with me and anybody that claims that document gives them permission to slave me even just a little tiny bit is full of shit, criminal, and if they force the issue they will not like what they conjure up.
Over and fukkn out.
Hammurabi thought you needed a document, and so he drew one up. Not on a parchment, but on a stell. It was a list of “if, thens”.
However the Bill of Rights differs entirely in character from all other governmental codes that proceeded it. You seem to have missed that part. I mean, you go from the Bill of Rights, to taxation and seizing of your property, in one tell swoop. The BOR limits government, not you, pilgrim.
So, I get that no one asked you about anything, and I find myself wondering just exactly why they would? Give me a farkham break. I used to say to God that I didn’t ask to be born. Rather a circular argument. You ain’t tellin God nothin. You’d have no concept of individuality, or of reason, if it weren’t for God, King David, and Martin Luther.
Back in actual CaseyLand, I find myself wondering whomst will govern my state next. You know, the entity that has a number stamped on my deep well. The one that regulates the power grid and the troubles the otherwise independent power company who send electricity to CaseyLand, and make it possible for me internet my wares to the planet Earf. Under the last governor, I watched my free state turn into Mussolini’s Italy almost fukn overnight. I love my power company – I actually do, They are great guys who work honestly and hard and will give you the shirts off their backs to deliver you the thing you need. As far as I recall, none of them ever asked for my vax status or told me to mask up.
There used to be a guy here in Washington, actually very close as the crow flies to my crib growing up. This is a place of coastal rainforest and mountain foothills. You can shittalk all day long about Germany and swamps and the desert, and all we do out here is stare at you with incredulity. The mountain rainforest will kill you on day one and laugh at you, kick you up and play with your stupid corpse, wishing it could kill you again for fun. Anyway, the guy was John Tornow. John Tornow makes Clyde Barrow and Billy the Kidd look gay.
He told his parents fuck this, and took to living in the deep woods full time. Fast forward the story and he gets institutionalized and then accused of murder and one thing leads to another and it’s a manhunt (in the Nineteen Tens, I believe it was) and Old Wildman Tornow is living in the backwoods scaring the shit out of the posse of lawmen and adventurers looking for bounty and hell bent to kill this crazy giant whose only mantra was “Leave me alone”. Think the movie Deliverance, except that was so gay.
John Tornow is now a hero where I come from. Was he a crazy criminal outlaw, or a loner who could Rambo with the best of them? Np one knows, but he sure had an ethic and he lived it to the fullest, until they kilt his ass and decorated the local saloon with his remains. Why is he a modern day hero? because there is an upswelling of passion among the people to be left the fuck alone. The Covidz fuckery made most normal people into John Tornow wannabes.
So, I sympathize with you, Ghostman. But I can’t agree about the BillofRights. The BOR is a big fukcYou to the government and was born out of the minuteman spirit. We also have a thing our Wesy called the Code of the West. It’s not on paper, but is word of mouth. If you need to know what it is, grow up in the remore West. You get a flavor of it from John Wayne movies – it’s that do unto others and don’t cross strangers mentality. It’s a leave-people-be code.
We also had a great phrase where I grew up. It went like this: “kiss my ass”! If my sainted mom or dad didn’t like the sound of someone basically into their shit, they’d utter that phrase at the drop of a hat. I should make a Gadsen Flag with Kiss My Ass on it and fly it for Insee when he leaves office.
OK, those are my thoughts for Thursday.
I looked up Tornow the first time you mentioned him, found a pik of his dead ass too. Put me to mind of that dead dood on “Jeremiah Johnson” that was frozen with his Hawken rifle in hand. This criminal gov’t is pushing all American men with balls in that direction. I’ve lived like an animal in the woods before and I may have to again. I’d rather sit here in my realtree chair and converse with people like you.
I’m not sure what you don’t agree with me about regarding the constitution. I agree, the BOR places limits on the gov’t. But. There are no teeth in it. Criminal politicians get to violate it all day long with no repercussions. THAT is what I take exception too. Once again, a contract without penalty for infractions is a fistfight among neckties. Just think of all the politicians that would be stewing in their own juices if there were penalties. But then, if there were penalties for their crimes they probably wouldn’t commit them. They’d treat others as they’d like to be treated.
This is the gadsden that I own but my wife won’t allow it to be mounted. So it hangs on my office wall along with a real one.

Hi Casey. The Great NW. Left the East in ’72 and stopped in Moclips, couldn’t go no further. WA was paradise then, not so much now. Have been blessed to spend most of my life since then in the mountains from Alaska to Colorado. Retired on the West Slope of CO and have watched the state go from great to CommieCal East. So very sad. Have a nice rural place here and a woman who loves me. Am too old and stove up to face the winters on my tree farm north of Priest River. Just hope to see it at least once more, in the summer. Via Con Dios!
Well said. Thank you!
I look at it differently. To me the Constitution is a nationwide agreement on how we all can live together in peace, get along, resolve our differences, maintain a civil society. A civil society being a condition for liberty and wealth creation, the advancement of the arts and sciences.
A civil society can be maintained by force of some kind of absolute sovereign, or maintained by consent.
When some part of the country or people decides that the Constitution no longer applies to them, and they want it changed, and if they can’t get that change peacefully, then by other means … need I go on?
We may not like it, or parts of it, but if the people lose the faith that by adhering to the Constitution our rights will be secured, then our Republic will fall. And if it falls, it is unlikely that civil society will be restored by the consent of the governed. It’s far more likely that a tyrant will rise. And while the tyrant may at first seem the lesser evil and the better good (ask the modern-day Russians, and learn from the ancient Romans who were relieved and pleased when Octavian became princeps and brought the Roman Civil War to a welcome end), eventually the rule of one fallible man or an oligarchy will bring unpredictable episodes of misery.
Our Republic has had a good run so far, but the future is never certain. Some wish to preserve it, some wish to tear it down that they might seize power, and some don’t care as long as they get paid. I don’t think today there are similar conditions as in 1850’s, where both sides were interested in preserving the Constitution and believed themselves loyal to it, but differed on the details of federalism. Today there seems to be at least one side that would see the Constitution overthrown. This does seem like one of those times when the future hangs in the balance.
John, there’s holes all over that thing so I’m going to dub it “Swiss Cheese”.
You’re a smart dood so I’m surprised you believe all of what you typed right there.
“nationwide agreement”
When did you agree to it? I never did. Nor was there ever an opportunity presented to me to agree with it.
“how we all can live together in peace”
I’m not interested in how “we all” can live together in peace.
I’m only interested in having peace with people I associate with, and as far as I can tell, almost all of my adult life I have done so, and without the assistance of a false gov’t document. Do you consult the constitution every time you meet a new person?
“people decides that the Constitution no longer applies to them, and they want it changed”
I’m not interested in changing it because it doesn’t apply to me. It applies to gov’t employees, of which I am not. Further, the gov’t employees mostly ignore and commit massive crimes against you and me. As far as I’m concerned the constitution doesn’t exist. The constitution is like a lock, it only effects honest people.
“We may not like it, or parts of it, but if the people lose the faith that by adhering to the Constitution our rights will be secured, then our Republic will fall.”
In my life I have actively participated in thousands of contracts, mostly for business purposes. Have they all functioned as they should? No, but a large percentage did, because the contracts that I initiated got better and better over time. When all the signers of the contract are well aware of their rights, responsibilities, and penalties most people prefer to live up to their word. The penalty aspect of the constitution is all but abandoned that renders the contract unenforceable.
“And if it falls, it is unlikely that civil society will be restored by the consent of the governed.”
Some might say it has already fallen but has not yet hit rock bottom. Also, you are mixing things up and I don’t know why, when you mention “the governed”.
I govern a business and have so since 1986 and have a learned a lot about business, gov’t, and most importantly, people, along the way. Of those 3 things, business, gov’t, people, gov’t has been the most costly in time and effort and shown less than no benefit at all. Gov’t has been a huge source of disappointment from every angle and I cannot put my finger on even one benefit.
I govern my business like I govern my life. I approach every person I meet as a potential client and even though right now they might be very low on the income totem pole, in a year or 10 they may be at a better place in their life and remember me and what I do. If I never see that person again I still win because the ideal I demonstrate everyday is habit forming causes me to be the better person today than I was yesterday.
“Our Republic has had a good run so far, but the future is never certain.”
I agree, mostly, with the first part but not the second. I believe the end is near. I believe the absence sound penalty principles built into the constitution have allowed the criminals to behave like they never have before in world history. I won’t go into detail because the evidence is made newly clear each and every day. This republic will fail because it hasn’t obeyed sound principles for many decades and the criminals therein have ascended to the highest levels and are raiding the system from top to bottom absent fear of any reprisal.
Post gov’t I expect common people will continue to do what is in their best interest mindful that there will no longer be a system in place that protects them if they decide to go awry or harm others. When a man robs you and he is rewarded with 3 hots and a cot there is little reason for him to not continue that behavior as soon as he can. When a man knows without a doubt he will be killed if he even hints at robbing you he is inclined to leave you alone in peace. What was that Franklin said about the republic?
I’m not smart, but I do aspire, and I try to think of things and why they are. And I appreciate it when someone comes and tells me I got it wrong. Pop my bubble, please. Emotionally it sucks, but I try to outweigh the appreciation from the chagrin.
I wrote something else in reply, but chose to delete it all and start again.
What I wrote before was the beautiful theory. But I’m not so stupid as to not see the ugly reality. There is no more Constitution, no more rule of law, no more equal justice. There is only will to power. Those consumed by the will to power lust for its acquisition and preservation. They will say anything, do anything, believe anything. We know now why the paroxysms and murderous cataclysms of the mid-20Cen. Once we wondered how could they allow themselves to become so corrupted. We wonder no more, for that corruption is in our people’s souls now.
The Republic has fallen. There aren’t any more free and fair elections. There’s no more petitioning the government for redress of grievances, unless you are of the favored side. All true and effective opposition will be crushed mercilessly. And even the favored petitioners, once their usefulness is at at an end, will be crushed, for after all who can trust a traitor? Do you understand that, alphabet people? They will come for you.
We have the spectacle today of the lawyers and judges climbing aboard the power at any price bandwagon. Gone are their hifalutin professions of nobility and fealty to Justice, Liberty, Fairness, Equality under the Law. We see the lawyers as they truly are: amoral henchmen of the wielder of sovereign power, and they don’t care who the sovereign is or what are the goals. Our judges and lawyers, grown and trained in the United States in our law schools, would be just as happy and fulfilled if they were working for the most despicable tyrants: Pol Pot, the Kims, the international and national socialists, the African dictators. All those guys, they all need lawyers to see their will expressed as reality and control the people. That’s it, lawyers carry out the will of the sovereign. Morality has nothing to do with it. They are cutting the great road through the law to get at the devils the sovereign has proclaimed. They think, they know, that they will be saved for it is the right thing to do.
There is no one coming to save you or us. If we band together against the powerful, we play ourselves into their hands and they will crush us. If we stand apart, they will crush us. None must escape, all must bend the knee or be destroyed. Convert, pay the jizyah, or be killed.
Ok, we’re not at the end state. Not yet. They still have to boil the frog a degree at a time. We are not yet bereft of resources or allies. But the road ahead will be hard and ugly. To succeed we must have faith in something.
Very good John.
“To succeed we must have faith in something.”
I have faith in myself, truth, and honesty.
The past has shown that nothing else matters.
I had a longish reply, sent it in, might be caught in the mysterious comment filter. I only had one hyperlink and one italics. Maybe it will show up later.
Well written, as always, John.
It’s been eye-opening to watch government entities step around the constitution like a subway turnstile. Let’s add another analogy: it’s like a gang of shoplifters at Nordstroms on Union Square, who when they see how easy it is to lift merch, grow in numbers and daring and strip the store like vultures on carrion. The government and bureaucracy aren’t getting the push-back from us, and are rolling us for all we’re worth.
you guys… thanks for keeping the spirit alive!
Oh well, looks like my last substantive comment was discarded by the filter. Some comments can only be written once. I remember Mr. G saying once he read all the comments and freed up the ones caught in the filter.
If this is going to work in memory of Mr. G, somebody is going to have to volunteer to police the filter, while swearing to not let the power go to their head and start curating.
Oops. Looks like it finally came up. My Emily Litella moment.
Much history has been written about the infiltration of Catholic seminaries by communists in the 1930’s and their infiltration of our universities in the 50’s and 60’s. Their purpose was to sabotage and to destroy our American way of life. The process would be slow, one drip at a time. Indoctrination is slow in a nation that has literally everything going for it, especially God’s Divine Protection.
Drip. In 1962 Engel v. Vitale, 370 U.S. 421 the Supreme Court ruled that school-sponsored prayer in public schools violated the establishment clause of the First Amendment. Instantly God was taken out of the classroom.
Drip, drip. In 1973 Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 the Supreme Court made a life altering decision in which the Court ruled that a woman has the constitutional right to have an abortion, to destroy the life that was growing in her. Since then over 63 million children have “legally” had their lives exterminated before they took their first breath.
All of a sudden we got a tsunami. These two decisions made by man’s supreme court have brought us to the place in America where, according to the HHS, in 2021 nearly 1 in 4 adults 18 and older had a mental illness, 13.5 percent of young adults 18-25 had both a substance use disorder and a mental illness and nearly 1 in 3 adults had either a substance use disorder or any mental illness.
Our problem is spiritual. America has turned its back on God. It appears He is turning His back on us.
