Leak?
No.
Stage?
Yes.
Just wait for the seats to go in there; it’ll crowd up quickly. I did fly on a brand new out of the box airliner once, and the cool lighting overhead is a bonus. I still haven’t boarded a plane because…there was a time not long ago when I wasn’t allowed to fly for my med status. Fascists.
Ghost, I agree with your assessment on the “leaker”. I was making wise cracks, at first. I got off what I thought was a damn good one: “Maybe now, they’ll commit more armor to the “Spring Offensive)”. Recall how Joseph Heller invented the E-4 Mafia trope in his book Catch-22. Anyway. Then I was wondering what this guardsman’s rank was. In the army, you don’t get a Secret clearance until you have some rank and/or a need-to-know job. I was joking that in the air force, they hand you a Secret clearance the first day of boot camp.
Then, my mind started turning. I looked up this poor patsy airman, and as far as I can tell, he’s got no rank. Maybe he’s an E-2, which means you peel potatoes and perform police calls for cigarette butts. No way in Hell he’s been issued those documents. The leak supposedly tells how many armored vehicles Ukraine has, and gives the number of special operators from several NATO countries who operate in Ukraine. Privates don’t get that poop – even if you’re in an intel billet. No fucking way.
If I were to guess, I’d say this young ner-do-well found some classified documents he wasn’t supposed to see. This means they were leaked by someone else. Or, this guy’s the greatest E-2 hacker in the air force. I call bullshit. He posted some classified intel to Discord, but he wasn’t the principle in this caper. Someone else is.
The Pentagon thinks you & I are stupid Elmer Fudds. The New York Times staff may be, but I sure as Hell ain’t. The guy they arrested isn’t a hero, or a whistleblower. The Green Beret aren’t deployed in Ukraine against congressional authority, either. WTF do you think these guys do?
So, today I’m really angry at the brass, and Biden’s clown car administration. All they seem to do, when they aren’t throwing wars into chaotic defeat (Kabul), green-lighting Russia, prostrating themselves before China, queering the services, is to cover their asses. The balloon was nothing; see? We shot down 4 boy scout weather balloons with Sidewinder missiles! Look! We caught an air guard leaker with reams and reams of classified data!
Very interesting report today, 4/14/23:

We have a friend who works at Boeing–refuses to get on an airplane. Begs us to never travel on the either 777 or the 787!
I’m with your friend, anon, probably for a different reason. I was a round engine transport pilot ’50’s-70’s, and it was a relaxed, enjoyable career. Retired mid 70s and accompanied wifey on a slew of tourist jaunts until the late 90’s, when riding an airline became too much of an ordeal for me. Quit flying cold and never regretted it. It’s not the airplanes I fear and abhor, it’s the bone-headed prople.
Can’t disagree. I once worked on the 777 at Boeing. For that matter, I’m not sure about any platform with recent “updates”. Pilots are just as expendable as we are (maybe more so depending on the insurance airlines has on pilots).

Anybody tried this stuff yet?
How’d you like it?
I am sorry–my computer is doing things a little differently today!!!! I cannot find the video of Bill Gates. Would someone be so kind as to please repost the link? Thank you!

A week or so ago when I first found out about Bud’s abhorrent decision I went right to their site and jumped through the hoops to tell them that I was a lifelong customer and was disgusted with their behavior on this matter and that I would never purchase any of the products again, ever.
Then I see this. What in the world is wrong with all these people?
The only thing that is going to calm me down now is to step out back with a firearm or 3 and let loose at them steel gongs. Then maybe later I will sit on the porch and admire the indy car on the current “Lite” cans.
A-B was purchased by a Inbev? some years ago and the first thing they did was to change the formula for their flagship brand. Bud was the number one selling beer in America for something like 50 years if memory serves correctly.
They had some pretty good stuff back in the day. Michelob, Busch, and Bud. Natural Light was alright. They didn’t cheap out on the products and people were loyal to them. It’s a shame that they pulled this off and one would have to think maybe August Busch is rolling in his grave.
Karl sez:
The alleged “leaker” of classified US defense information, which I remind you not only provided details about the Ukraine situation but also stated that we had actual uniformed troops in the nation, has been arrested.
There were plenty of folks who claimed over the last few days that these documents were not genuine; that is, they were a hoax — or propaganda, if you prefer, put forward by Russia to make it look like we had troops in Ukraine when in fact we did not.
By arresting the “leaker” we have admitted the documents are factual.
This is a problem; it is quite-arguable we have actually entered the Russia-Ukraine war.
For real.
You need to think long and hard about that, because from this point forward it is your decision whether you permit this administration — and by extension the military that is under civilian control of the Executive — to do this.
Unlike many nations the military in the United States is under civilian control and said control resides solely in the Executive, with the President as Commander in Chief.
All the denials, all the arm-waving, that’s all over now.
This is now our war, and we, the people are the ones who decide.
Whatever you think about Putin or Russia generally, or for that matter Ukraine, we are now in that war, the opponent has nuclear weapons, and we, right here in America, are now subject to whatever Russia decides to do with regards to a combating nation in said war, including to us as the civilian population.
Do not kid yourself as to what this means.
Choosing to do nothing is consent; every penny you spend, every tax dollar you generate, every bond sale you allow to have a “full faith and credit” behind is an act of support of said war; no war is ever prosecuted without both men and money and this is no longer an abstract discussion.

It seems to me that the Russians have a very good handle on the state of the US gov and the ruling class generally (finally). I do not mean that they are taking advantage of it but rather they understand how to play the long game against an amazingly clueless adversary without setting off tripwires, and they have become very good at this.
American foreign policy is like an old man who is still chasing but he just can’t remember why.
