Who Am I? by Carl Sandburg
My head knocks against the stars.
My feet are on the hilltops.
My finger-tips are in the valleys and shores of
universal life.
Down in the sounding foam of primal things I
reach my hands and play with pebbles of
destiny.
I have been to hell and back many times.
I know all about heaven, for I have talked with God.
I dabble in the blood and guts of the terrible.
I know the passionate seizure of beauty
And the marvelous rebellion of man at all signs
reading “Keep Off.”
My name is Truth and I am the most elusive captive
in the universe.

Take It Where You Find It
Men saw the stars at the edge of the sea
They thought great thoughts about liberty
Poets wrote down words that did fit
Writers wrote books
Thinkers thought about it
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
Many’s the road I have walked upon
Many’s the hour between dusk and dawn
Many’s the time
Many’s the mile
I see it all now
Through the eyes of a child
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
And close your eyes
Leave it all for a while
Leave the world
And your worries behind
You will build on whatever is real
And wake up each day
To a new waking dream
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Change, change come over
Change come over
Talkin’ about a change
Change, change
Change come over, now
Change, change, change come over
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light

Noise? Old Man Biden” “You kids get off my lawn!”
There’s some freedom for you.
due to the city’s FU Honky Curfew.
How totally appropriate. 4th of July is an American holiday and there are no Americans in Washington DC.
The rioting and looting, however, can go on as scheduled.
Noise curfew a reason to cancel fireworks for the Fourth? Our second President must be churning in his grave. John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail the day after the signing of the Declaration of Independence how he thought Independence Day should be celebrated: [Adams’ spelling]
“It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more. You will think me transported with Enthusiasm but I am not. I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory. I can see that the End is more than worth all the Means. And that Posterity will tryumph in that Days Transaction, even altho We should rue it, which I trust in God We shall not.”
Well, at least Adams’ posterity is still permitted games and sports on the Fourth: the Nationals were graciously allowed to play baseball this afternoon– losing to the Dodgers, 5-1.
Independence Day celebratory fireworks are sounding all around me in southern Maine. We are at least that free still.
We truly live in a COMMUNIST COUNTRY. Socialism is just a “kind” word for Communism. I will not comform!
GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!!
Diana, disagree, this is still the greatest nation on the planet!. Agree we have growing pains, We The People ARE the solution. MSM, DC, simply have to be held accountable, at all levels, all three branch’s.
