Noted in Passing: To honor George Floyd on the first anniversary of his holy martyrdom some of his acolytes decided to shoot each other

I love the fact that the white folks are standing around wondering “Duh, what’s up doc?” while the black guy at 0:06 has hit the ground and is crawling inside the George Floyd Memorial on his belly.

Cause nothing says black lives matter like blacks killing blacks.

  • Casey Klahn May 25, 2021, 9:25 PM

Where’s a cop? Noda cops not here?? WTF where da cops is.

  • Lance de Boyle May 25, 2021, 10:13 PM

Annual George Floyd Memorial Slaughter Lottery.
Winners are stood against the wall at Mabel’s House of Hair Extensions and are then gunned down. This will bring peace aplenty to the community.

Sounds like my neighborhood…but it isn’t gunfire. Usually dynamite. Good times. Tell me, do they commemorate the death by cop of Justine Damond? How bad were the riots of Saltine-Americans after the Somali cop shot her from within the cop car. From the passenger seat. Out the driver’s side window. After she called them to report a crime.

  • Gordon Scott May 26, 2021, 1:12 AM

Jeez, Jewel, of course not. The Minneapolis PD had been trying for years to get a Somali through the police academy. They finally did, by ignoring evaluators who said the guy wasn’t, ahem, smart enough or psychologically suited. Meanwhile they had no trouble at all getting Hmong officers and Mexican officers.
I suppose it did slow down Hmong recruitment when a Hmong officer, working undercover, was shot at by a suspect, but saved by his vest. He called for backup, explicitly saying he was dressed for undercover. A 20-year veteran arrived with his partner, came running up to the Hmong cop who was kneeling with his weapons in front of him, hands on his thighs. The veteran cop promptly shot him five times.
The Hmong cop survived, and survived the whispering campaign among cops that somehow he was at fault, and left the force. The veteran cop faced no charges and retired with full pension some years later.
Yeah, the Minneapolis PD has a well-earned reputation for unnecessary violence. They, like most police departments these days, went way too far down the militarization path.

It’s a funny thing. In Minneapolis, you always wish you had the previous mayor back, no matter how much you disliked him or her. The previous mayor to small Frey, Betsy Hodges, did all the right stuff to be a good progressive. Her police chief was a lesbian, and not the worst you can imagine. But she was on vacation in Colorado when Justine Damond was killed. It was her first vacation in years. She immediately, and repeatedly, offered to fly back to handle the media. Mayor Hodges told her, no, no, stay, we’ve got this.

And when she did return Hodges fired her for not coming back.

I am so glad I am out of there. I could not stand to see that city die.

That Somali cop, Noor, testified that he was afraid for his life and so, when startled by Justine Damond, reached across his partner and shot her. In the safest neighborhood in Minneapolis. The safest – bar none.

    That so called “memorial”.
Cans and jars sitting around, black corrugated pipes, strewn wooden planks, home made childish signage, dead flowers, words painted on the street, and a fold out chair. Mostly wypeepo standing about.

You can take people out of the ghetto but you can’t take the ghetto out of the people.
What a retarded clown show, and to think the politicians and corporations and half the citizens are taken in by this basal spectacle. Parasites all.

  • Jewel May 26, 2021, 8:01 AM

This Kumbayanity started with wypeepo, and ends with wypeepo fading from sight and mind.

Wow, a 21 gun salute for Felonious Fentanyl Floyd?
I guess it was to celebrate his being ‘drug-free, clean and sober’ for one whole year.

What a shame that all those all those fired rounds missed the Floyd-worshiping scumbags who attended.

  • Harry May 26, 2021, 10:13 AM

All hail George . . . or else!

  • Jeff Brokaw May 26, 2021, 1:01 PM

An old school reporter would have recognized the sound of gunfire immediately and taken cover a little quicker than that hapless dork.

  • Kevin in PA May 26, 2021, 3:20 PM

Jeff said, “An old school reporter would have recognized the sound of gunfire immediately and taken cover a little quicker than that hapless dork.”

Hahaha! Yeah and did you see the other idiot white dude just standing in the middle of the road as the shots multiply and he’s trying to get a better view of what the ruckus is? Un-real.

Survival tip for upcoming SPORKY festivities: If you hear gun fire, get down! If you are armed (as any thinking person should be) prepare to return fire. Don’t stand there in the middle of the street rubber-necking to see where the action is.

  • Terry Hunt May 26, 2021, 4:13 PM

This: “Don’t stand there in the middle of the street rubber-necking to see where the action is.”

That is a great comment Kevin. Down as flat as you can get or you may be a statistic in the results report. Being white is like glowing in the dark at a carnival shooting gallery.

  • Vanderleun May 26, 2021, 5:12 PM

The First Rule of [Gun]Fight Club: GET OFF THE X!

Second rule: If you stand “in the middle of the street rubber-necking to see where the action is,” the action will be where you are very shortly.

  • Rob De Witt May 26, 2021, 5:28 PM

    WHAT black guy at 0:06?

Am I watching the same twit?

  • ghostsniper May 26, 2021, 6:09 PM

Rob, he’s on the ground right behind the reporter. Low crawling to cover. When the reporter turns away from the camera you can see him.

  • Rob De Witt May 26, 2021, 8:02 PM

    Ghost –

Thanks. The linked clip is not the one you describe, which I found down the thread.
Maybe I’ve just been gifted with a richer life than the gormless twits in the vid, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have taken those reports for anything but gunshots.

    a. get down
    b. get gone

  • Nori May 26, 2021, 8:36 PM

To be fair, the reporter sounds British,so he’s unaccustomed to the sounds of gunfire in the city.
It was amusing to hear him go from “Yes,I believe that is gunfire…” to “Shit!” “Oh,shit!” as he realized why YES,that IS real live gunfire.
Not what he was expecting at the mostly peaceful worship ceremony of St Floyd of Fentanyl.

  • Mike-SMO May 26, 2021, 9:31 PM

Tain’t Nuffin. Just dah usul blood sacrifice. Iz traditional.

Remember. When they loaded the ships at the Boni-Port, they didn’t ship the valuable ones. They just transferred the burden of supporting the non-productive and useless. S.S. Minneapolis, I think. What do you expect from that population? It ain’t “race”. The newer imports seem to do well in the U.K. and in the .U.S. The “old stock” were chosen ‘cuz they couldn’t or wouldn’t do what was necessary. Try “selection” of the unfittest.

  • Clifft May 27, 2021, 6:34 AM

Looks to me like the dude “crawling for cover” is an involuntary lead collector and the Tahoe creeps by to make sure he ain’t moving

  • Casey Klahn May 27, 2021, 11:41 AM

Where dey get da ammo? That’s a lot of bullets to just spray around not hitting anything with. Don’t they know there’s an ammo shortage?

Do they expect the gubbmint tit to just issue them ammo, like some kinda Marxist utopia? Wait…

  • Vince S. May 29, 2021, 9:14 AM

That guy with the crossed arms gets me. Like those crossed arms are going to stop bullets. When the
first round hits that morons knee, he will acquire a whole new worldview immediately.
