Noted In Passing: The "Badass MF" problem in the Black community

You see, you learn something when you listen to old people. They ain’t fools, see. You don’t get to be old by being no fool, see. A lot of young wise men are deader than a motherfucker, ain’t they? – Mudbone aka Richard Pryor

Personally I just don’t give a shit. Everybody gets to be a normal adult in their own time scale, or not. If all you have is double digits well, it blows to be you.

    Great sentiment Ghost. I agree.

Harvard is a disgrace. What a pathetic individual: “I was … a Harvard Economics Tenured Professor”.
FYI … It ain’t changed since the ’60s when the Dems created “public housing”. Or, maybe the early ’50s when the Dems instituted “minimum wage” laws to favor southern Dems (Thank you Prof Sowell for pointing that “cause and effect” out.).

There is no “white” race (nor a “black” race) … and there certainly has never (not even before 1619) been “unity” among African tribes (3-4,000 – coveting, enslaving, merging / copulating, diverging, eliminating / killing, selling (for centuries to Arabs then Europeans), … so what’s with this “African-American” unity label ? Africa is a continent, not a country.).

But, we need more “affirmative action”, “preferences”, BLM, New Black Panthers, … yada, yada, …
Or maybe all should just realize that it is the “self-anointed” among us that are the enemy (in today’s vernacular – politicians and government bureaucrats), as well newly arrived immigrants who aspire to government jobs like the ones in the “shithole countries” they left they were excluded from.

And, the rest of “us” should just go about life as best we are able (always questioning any government representative who suggests “we know what is best for you” or “here’s a ‘new program’, it’s ‘free’ to you”).

One comment he makes struck me. That the Irish, Italians and many other people coming to America went through that period of urban aggression.
So why did the Irish and the Italian communities mature and as a group see that behavior as harmful and squeeze it out? I remember reading James Cagneys auto-biography, he commented on the high percentage of men from his neighborhood that ended up dead or in prison. So the raw material was there for a self-sustaining urban culture of thuggish life.

I think the difference is drugs, some drugs existed but were hard to get or expensive; but meth, or crack cocaine didn’t exist. And of course no government pot shops on the corner.

Wrong and Strong. It is not just a product of American culture.

So much of this crap is created because there are so many *studies degrees out there and not enough faculty/staff posts to absorb them. That means if these folks want to eat and drive nice cars they have to find or create a nonprofit post from which to grift. It does help that companies like Target and US Bank and so on wish to purchase racism insurance, so they’re willing to throw money. The amounts are trivial to big corporations, but those grants can fund a quite lavish nonprofit that provides four or five jobs with full benefits, and best of all, no actual work is required, and no results need obtain from spending the money.

But if one of these folks wants serious influence and money, they have to build the street cred. This means they must create racism where none exists. This is what white African American Rachel Dolezal was doing when she stashed racist messages in the NAACP mailbox, and spray painted graffiti on the only night the security cameras were mysteriously inoperative. If one can stage some sort of racial attack then one can fight back and survive and one now has street cred.

This is different from the “I found a noose on my dorm door” sorts of self-staged racial incidents found at colleges, and lately high schools. Inevitably these are done by the reporting party, usually to
give an excuse for failing grades.

One of the funny things about Barack and Michelle Obama was that they were viewed as amateurs by the racial grievance industry. Neither had any street cred at all, and still don’t. They have always wanted to hang out with the beautiful rich people, and now they do.

The whole Black Lives Matter scam seems to be sucking up mucho cash. Local affiliates are rather pissed about how the national BLM doesn’t share any of that sweet corporate cash. Why should they? There’s houses to be bought. Is there a BLM Chico? Gerard, if there isn’t, you should found it. Just identify as African American, spin some patter about yoru days hanging out with the Panthers in Oakland, and you’re in. The way to structure it is to have a nonprofit to accept donations, and a for-profit to receive cash from the other. Then pay yourself whatever you like, in addition to the $200,000 you pay yourself to run the nonprofit.

It’s not a “badass” problem in the black community, it’s a DUMBASS problem.

74% of black “fathers” abandon their offspring at birth. (and for decades, now)
That’s the single largest factor for social and economic failure for blacks. No father figure means no guidance and no discipline.

Yet blacks and Liberals simply ignore that fact, blame “whitey” and “racism” instead.
Meanwhile, the largest cause of death for blacks in the USA is abortion- 61%.

If “Black Lives Matter,” why aren’t blacks addressing the most serious problems their race actually faces?
    Because “dumbass?”

The more chickens in the pen,
the more likely a pecking order.
Big cities breed this stuff. Stacking
people on top of each other leads to
more and more anxiety(restless, nervous, tense).

The Stagger Lee Syndrome, as I call it.
@John the River is right — this mentality has been around since the first Scots-Irish hard men — the OG masters of the drink-fight-f**k mentality — arrived at these shores. Drugs are part of the problem, but another part is the post-Sixties mythification of “rebellion” that these two men discuss. Doing passive resistance to destroy Jim Crow laws is one thing; violently resisting arrest is definitely another.

The desire to be a Badass MF is NOT a black or white phenomenon. It’s a male phenomenon. Most guys work it out by having good Dad role models. Others work it out in the military or get a job. Most of us channel our Badass MF self into excellence in what we do, the tools we have or the knowhow we’ve accumulated instead of just raging at the machine. These two guys raise a good intellectual argument but then they show their “street cred” in order to be the authority on their subject. That ain’t confessing. That’s bragging.
