Who Am I? by Carl Sandburg
My head knocks against the stars.
My feet are on the hilltops.
My finger-tips are in the valleys and shores of
universal life.
Down in the sounding foam of primal things I
reach my hands and play with pebbles of
destiny.
I have been to hell and back many times.
I know all about heaven, for I have talked with God.
I dabble in the blood and guts of the terrible.
I know the passionate seizure of beauty
And the marvelous rebellion of man at all signs
reading “Keep Off.”
My name is Truth and I am the most elusive captive
in the universe.

The Vault
Take It Where You Find It
Men saw the stars at the edge of the sea
They thought great thoughts about liberty
Poets wrote down words that did fit
Writers wrote books
Thinkers thought about it
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
Many’s the road I have walked upon
Many’s the hour between dusk and dawn
Many’s the time
Many’s the mile
I see it all now
Through the eyes of a child
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
And close your eyes
Leave it all for a while
Leave the world
And your worries behind
You will build on whatever is real
And wake up each day
To a new waking dream
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Change, change come over
Change come over
Talkin’ about a change
Change, change
Change come over, now
Change, change, change come over
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light

This was first written by Lucifer right before he had his ass kicked out of Heaven. It has been revised many times by his minions on earth throughout 6000 years of History. There is nothing new under the sun.
We don’t share suns then, Mike. I saw you’re taking Canadian Mist on your trip. Never tried it. Bought some today since you’re The Man. New under my sun. Hoping it doesn’t take me to a black hole.
The best I can say about it is that “It’s drinkable.” But after a full day of bicycling, it is all you need. Anything more elegant would be wasted.
It can also be used to wash down Ramen noodles.
Some on a rag might do the trick for chain cleaning.
I can vouch for that.
I’m beginning to worry about my purchase.
Friendly hint, drink alone.
(old story, I told the other Mike about it)
FWIW…
I’ve been working steadily for 52 years. Every penny of retirement (stocks, etc.) came from my labor.
Come to find out….. I just lost half a million in retirement.
Where’s the gullotine when you need one?
When I tell the wife, “See? NOW will you listen when I tell you what these bastards are up to?”, all she can say is. “Yeah, but Trump.”
Where’s the Iron Maiden when you need one?
Only good things are
1. I still have a job and will work till I clutch my chest and say, in that suave way I have, “Welp, that’s it for one life. Class dismissed. Now GFYs.”
2. And all my ahole “friends” and “relatives” who voted for Clothhead and Co., and who (in their hubris. “I’m on Easy Street now! I earned it!”) have retired, and who laugh and say,
“Ha ha, Lance. You’re still working. I get up at noon, have my coffie, and read the Times…”
Well, Ha f^%#king ha on you. Starve, suckahs.
“Sure, formerly smug jackhole sister in law, I have food stashed away. 50 sealed 5 gallon pails of it. And no, not one lentil for you, rat face. DIE!”
“Sure I have silver, broke mofo. But, and follow me closely here, not one dime of it for you. Ask Biden for few bucks.”
“You want water, my dehydrated friend? Go suck a pond.”
Time to sell a few Mosins and get another shot gun.
Hope you all are doing okay.
Lance,
If you lost $.5KK then you had a really big retirement fund or you had it invested in something very risky. Curious to know how you have planned for retirement. Until about a year ago I had all my 401K largely in S&P 500 index mutual funds. About a year ago I moved 60% of that into a fixed bond fund which currently sits at about 3.5%. Therefore, I have not taken a bad beating. I am still a few years out from withdrawing anything.
Also remember, you only lose money if you sell low. Ride it out my friend.
Thank, Snake!
TIAA and VALIC. Moved to conservative investments a few years ago.
I’ll wait it out, as you say.
But I have and will nurture vitriolic contempt for those who elected the regime that has stolen my family’s welfare.
“How you liking Biden and retirement now, you dumb ba$#$d?”
You have lost nothing, unless you panicked and sold. Hold tight, the Delaware douche bags only around for another 24 ish months.
I lost big in 08? When I panicked.
Get the additional shotgun but keep the Mosin’s. Your unarmed, soon to be educated neighbors can be your cover. The 7.65 x 54R is a potent round.
The game never changes, and the marks keep stepping up to get swindled.
I agree with both of you. I’m a women in my 40’s and feel the obligation to buy all the newspapers and books from 60 years ago in hopes to find some truth in our American history and world affairs. I don’t trust the “internet” for my source of information.
Dear Diana: All is certainly not lost. I write as a man who has taught US History at the Middle School, High School and college level for 27 years in 3 countries. My recommendations for US History:
1. “A Patriot’s History of the Untied States” by Larry Schweikart and Michael Allen
2. Paul Johnson’s “A History of the American People”
For Modern History:
1. “The Birth of the Modern” by Paul Johnson
2. “Modern Times” by Paul Johnson.
There are many others but these I am most familiar with. Avoid Howard Zinn like the plague, for a plague he is.
Last night my wife told me about a new book she got in to do an index for.
“The Myths of American History” and I told her to email me the pdf so I could take a look.
As is normal now in the publishing industry I bet the book takes all the popular story’s and places a slant on them in a direction we are all familiar with.
Yesterday she finished a week long effort of creating an index for a book written by a negro college professor that was seemingly anti-everything truth. She said all these communist books are taking a toll on her and she wants out. I told her I’m behind her no matter her choice.
Mike,
Thank you for sharing this information and will definitely look into getting these books
Lazy parasites are initially attracted to communism and when they achieve it they finally get a clue, and a bullet to the back of the head. The sane cannot let the lazy drag them down that road and the only way to do so is to kill them.
Do not forget communism’s attraction for those who worship violence. Communism gives such creatures an outlet for their most ghastly urges with no moral component involved save those that come from the Politburo itself. Everywhere communism has gone it has left gulags, pyramids of skulls and hundreds of millions of corpses.
Good point, and it was what I alluded to with the “bullet to the back of the head”.
To be a slave, there must be a master.
Took my family to the lake today. Wifey-dear, daughter, son-in-law, granddaughters. Cooked some burgers and dogs on the ol’ pontoon palace, did some bluegill fishing, tubin’ and generally having a wonderful time. I highly recommend doing something similar in order to return to normal life. Funny vignette, I was wearing my “Let’s Go Brandon” shirt, went in the gas ‘n go for some ice. The proprietor said, “I just heard your man on TV, said he just saved us all $500.00.” I replied, “I hate that son of a bitch,” and the place went wild with affirmation. The proprietor said, “Yeah, we all do!” Made my day.
Yes!
I could use a day or 3 like that.
My wife and I very much enjoy going to lakes and rivers for the day. Our vision is to continue enjoying our daily lives. No one knows what tomorrow may bring. It’s probably best not to guess at what may be in tomorrows event stream. Keep in good terms with your like minded neighbors is a piece of advice a friend keeps repeating.
Steel up your nerves. Our adversaries believe they will live forever. They may, but in Hell.
The society was dumbed down so that the second Bolshevik revolution Fundamental Transformation would go smoothly.
The didn’t listen to Lincoln about not being able to fool everyone all of the time.
Monkey pox. Keep you dick out of Other mens butts. Shazam! no monkey pox!
LOL. Good advise. I never was a fan of monkeys after looking in on one for two weeks for a friend on vacation.
