Not Man Apart
Then what is the answer?– Not to be deluded by dreams.
To know that great civilizations have broken down into violence,
and their tyrants come, many times before.
When open violence appears, to avoid it with honor or choose
the least ugly faction; these evils are essential.
To keep one’s own integrity, be merciful and uncorrupted
and not wish for evil; and not be duped
By dreams of universal justice or happiness. These dreams will
not be fulfilled.
To know this, and know that however ugly the parts appear
the whole remains beautiful. A severed hand
Is an ugly thing and man dissevered from the earth and stars
and his history… for contemplation or in fact…
Often appears atrociously ugly. Integrity is wholeness,
the greatest beauty is
Organic wholeness, the wholeness of life and things, the divine beauty
of the universe. Love that, not man
Apart from that, or else you will share man’s pitiful confusions,
or drown in despair when his days darken.

Where the Sidewalk Ends
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we’ll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we’ll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

You can call a N—r a N—r in China and laugh at Trannies. Plus neither get to go anywhere near your kids. Errr… Kid. Although there will be more Kids now that the evil One Child Policy is history.
We’re all Prisoners. Just some are in County, some in Super Max, and some are in Club Fed. Who is in which one is an open question and in the current climate not time-invariant.
The thing about those high-rises is that every time someone flushes a toilet, you’re going to hear plumbing noises. Plus let’s hope nobody skimped on the rebar.
They’ve built hell on earth.
The Chinese have been building “Hell on earth” since 1949. One hundred million Chinese corpses provided the mortar.
The atheist fools have out done the Babylonians with their towers.
I recall the singing parrot from one of those odd cartoons posted a few days ago.
“… be it ever so humble
there’s nooooo place like home.”

And I thought Soviet architecture was grim. This is fukn grim with pink on it.
Makes a great jump to the death scene, I bet.
I bet there’s a falling body out of one of those cells nearly every day.
If I was forced to live there, one of them would eventually be mine.
Imagine the smell of the cooking in that hell tower.
Some folks actually like living is chicken battery cages. Not for me but I’ve often thought one building, tower towns surrounded by acres and acres of nothing but acres and acres might be interesting. First 3-5 floors, open sided pillar supported parking and utilities such as water plants wastewater treatment power plant, etc. . Next 10 or so stores, churches, bars theaters etc. Maybe a 5 or 15 floor business district, lawyers, doctors, brokers and such. All topped by residential floors.
Not for me but many would be happy to own a condominium with all their needs just an elevator ride away.
Whittier, Alaska leans kinda that way, population 272, almost all of whom live in a single building, the Begich Towers.
I’ve had more than one piece of mail mis-delivered to Whittier, Alaska, and lost in delivery limbo for many days.

Probably never quiet, like living in a prison.
Or New York.
