Lying. As they always do and always will. As has been noted, if you have seized and are occupying the White House, why would you need to fake a tv set?

  • PA Cat September 29, 2021, 12:21 PM

That’s obviously not “Doctor” Jill administering the shot. OTOH, at least the old coot isn’t sniffing the med tech’s hair– although his left arm is in a somewhat ambiguous position/location.

  • Mike Austin September 29, 2021, 12:56 PM

Biden pretends to be a president. Bergoglio pretends to be a pope. Milley pretends to be a general. Fauci pretends to be a doctor. The Media pretend to be truthful. Elections pretend to be honest. COVID pretends to be a pandemic. The FBI pretends to be trustworthy. The Constitution pretends to be the law. Congress pretends to represent us.

All “official reality” is what the Hindus call ‘Maya’, a “magic show, an illusion where things appear to be present but are not what they seem.”

Nothing today is what it seems. All is sham, fakery, lies.

Go ahead Dorothy, look behind the curtain. But don’t get caught. And keep your mouth shut.

When James decided to give school one more go, it was only if there was to be no masking or vaxxing. I told the administration this. One week later, our Grabbernator, Tom Crying Wolf, issued an in school mask mandate, and I immediately withdrew the boy. He’s been home ever since. The school
administrator, eager to make everyone feel uncomfortably welcome, offered a medical exemption for James. So I asked him. “Would you like to go back to school without wearing a mask, knowing ALL your classmates had to?” Just picture that. How well would that go. And they want me to sign a paper, LYING about his medical condition. His medical condition is the human condition: We need to breathe freely. Oxygen, not lung rot.

The blatant melding of government and industry. Colbert at his fascist best.

    Not a new idea…

Went to the site and immediately found this: “Karen Croake Heisler: 67-year-old former Notre Dame professor says “damn the unvaccinated,” dead 12 days after third Pfizer mRNA injection”.

      Love her middle name.

I know it is considered bad form to speak ill of the dead, but can we laugh at them?

Remember that USMC saying, :Kill ’em all and let God sort them out?” It seems He is.

Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children borrowed that saying from Arnaud Amalric, the leader of the crusade against the Albigensians in southern France in 1209. The Latin original is Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius.

        • Mike Austin September 30, 2021, 6:20 AM

          Gratias tibi, amice latina lectio.

The Albigensians deserved what they got. Damned heretics. I studied the most prominent heresies as part of my research into Catholic theology. The “Albis” were commonly called Cathars. They practiced a form of “Christianity” that would seem very strange today and not at all Christian. Because they were not; they were gnostics.

If I were a Cathar, of course, I would feel the opposite.

Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius.

Mike, do you know Denis de Rougemont’s Love in the Western World? He wrote the first edition in 1939, revised it in 1956. De Rougemont was a Swiss (d. 1985) who addressed the various totalitarianisms of the 1930s from a Christian perspective (he was a Huguenot). Anyhoo– his book traces the cult of romantic love in the West back to the Tristan myth and the Albigensian heresy. From the Princeton Press’s blurb: “At the heart of [de Rougemont’s] ever-relevant inquiry is the inescapable conflict in the West between marriage and passion — the first associated with social and religious responsibility and the second with anarchic, unappeasable love as celebrated by the troubadours of medieval Provence [the Albigensians–ed.]. These early poets, according to de Rougemont, spoke the words of an Eros-centered theology, and it was through this heresy that a European vocabulary of mysticism flourished and that Western literature took on a new direction.”
Princeton charges $45 for a paperback copy, but I’m sure you can find one for much less at Alibris.

            • Mike Austin September 30, 2021, 8:30 AM

I had never heard of Denis de Rougemont, but looking around a bit I see that some of what he wrote, especially about “courtly love” and the Troubadours is echoed in two books I had to read in college in Medieval History: “Roman de la Rose” and “The Book of the Courtier”. I still have them somewhere on my bookshelves. They reside among 1000 others, and more are added all the time.

Both of these touch on Romantic Love, passion, and so on. They also point out that a gentleman, a lover or a ‘courtier’ should ideally have a woman to whom he can dedicate his poetry, his service or his fantasies. This predates de Rougemont of course: Ovid had his Galatea; Horace his Pyrrha; Dante his Beatrice; Petrarch his Laura. I’ve had a few myself.

I found fascinating that de Rougemont traced the change in Western Civilization from the ‘hero-fighter’ to the ‘hero-lover’, from Achilles and Patroclus to Tristen and Isolde. I prefer the ‘hero-fighter’ but that’s just me.

Apparently de Rougemont sent a few scholarly heads all a spinning because of his position on sexual love (I should have revised that) in a Christian marriage. I would find Eros to be a necessary part of any marriage, but again—that’s just me.

All this academic talk about love and such is starting to make me remember some of the women in my life. I had better quit now.

  • waitingForTheStorm September 30, 2021, 6:29 AM

Well, I was on the fence about the jab, having been engaged in scholarly research and spirited debate for the past year or so. But, Colbert’s stirring and rousing presentation demonstrated the flaws in my thought processes and has provided the final rational push to convince me to participate. Now, if I could just find my phone to schedule a session with the nurses in the vaccinarium.

  • Annie Rose September 30, 2021, 6:29 AM

Thanks! Now I need to go bleach my eyeballs. Literal dancing queens in liquid lamé syringe miniskirts and platform go-go boots, gyrating to Tequila, as their death needles merrily jiggle and sparkle on their heads. All that was missing were covid beach balls bouncing off the audience. Total perverse propaganda hell reminiscent of the medical dance choreography from All That Jazz where Bob Fosse is dying. The media once again proves that there is no depth they are unwilling to descend to in order to continue their worship of their Dem masters. And where were the slave masks? I thought covid was a serious and deadly disease that was kept at bay by the magic cloth. Evidently it knows not to enter tv studios.

    • Mike Austin September 30, 2021, 8:38 AM

Annie: No eyeball bleach needed here, but it is still odd. And it has dancing COVID balls to boot:

      Apologies to Saint-Saëns.

I still remember Fosse’s words as he was guided through the hospital by his ex-wife and his fiancĂ©: To his ex-wife he says, “I’m sorry what I did to you.” To his fiancĂ© he says, “And I’m sorry what I was about to do to you.”

In case you can’t get enough of drama queens, here you have the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus performing their new hit, “Vaccinate!” on Harvey Milk Day. (Note that they’re not wearing masks even though the song tells people to do so.)

Somehow I doubt their little ditty is going to persuade the AD crew to march down to the nearest Jabberwock facility.

      • Mike Austin September 30, 2021, 11:42 PM

Ack. I watched as much as I could before images of Sodom and Gomorrah overcame me.

  • jwm September 30, 2021, 7:04 AM

    Whew!
Annie Rose just knocked it out of the park. That post was gold.

But the video has me wishing for the Sweet Meteor Of Death. At this point, I’m rooting for the rock. In fact, I’ll volunteer to be the spotter. “Hey, SMOD, I’m right here, country, state, city, and zip code. Aim for the front yard, we’re having a party out back.”

How many here are of still Pure Blood. No right or wrong answer for this. No jabs here, no immediate family has taken the shots. Everybody has demonstrated symptoms, nobody knows, won’t test. Not interested in supporting the Govt shell game.

    • Mike Austin September 30, 2021, 8:44 AM

Not vaxxed. Not getting it. Don’t need it. I trust the US Government as much as I trust China. But then, they are becoming one and the same: from pigs to men and from men to pigs:

“The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.”

    • Mike Austin September 30, 2021, 9:07 AM

      Just got this from Medicare.gov:

“Mike, If you previously got 2 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, you can get a booster shot of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine if you fall into one of these groups:
      You’re 65 and older,
You’re 18+ and have certain underlying medical conditions, or
You’re 18+ and work or live in a high-risk setting.
You can get your booster shot at least 6 months after you complete your second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. The booster shot can help strengthen and prolong your protection against COVID-19.

I just love that last line. They have my permission to go make love to themselves.

    • PA Cat September 30, 2021, 9:59 AM

Not vaxxed. I work as a freelance academic writer/editor out of my home, so I can’t be fired by a brainwashed employer. And I live alone (except for the cats), so I’m not putting any of the neighborhood Chads and Karens at risk.

I’ve had to research the whole COVID mess for my paid work for the last few weeks, and I’m more than ever convinced that the CDC is full of [expletive deleted]. The infighting between the FDA and the CDC over booster shots in the past two weeks is instructive– when two upper-level FDA people quit (rather than be fired by TPTB), and the CDC overrules the advice given not only by the FDA but by its own Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) in order to ram the booster shot “guidance” down the public’s throat, any sensible observer is going to ask what’s really going on.

I suppose y’all know that the ever-blessed Fauci redefined “fully vaccinated” yesterday: “Fauci acknowledged that ‘we did not always know that a third dose would likely be an important part of the proper, complete regimen.’ . . . Fauci also said that the boosters don’t keep people alive, just from experiencing severe symptoms. . . . The scary part about Fauci’s redefining ‘fully vaccinated’ is the implications it has for those impacted by Biden’s vaccine mandate. Will people who’ve had their two doses of Pfizer and Moderna not be considered fully vaccinated and face termination under Biden’s vaccine mandate?”

Not masked, not vaxxed, not compliant.

  • EX-Californian Pete September 30, 2021, 10:49 AM

    PERFECT!

    A FAKE “President”
    from a FAKE “election”
    getting a FAKE “cure”
    from some FAKE “medical personnel”
in a FAKE “White House” setting
    full of his FAKE “admirers.”

Whatever happened to reality? Is it gone now?

  • Callmelennie September 30, 2021, 4:09 PM

Try this one, Colbert. You wont convince anyone, but at least you wont make an ass of yourself …

    One jab burns your shoulder
    And one jab has glycol
And the one the Rooskies worked on
    Dont do anything at all
So vaxx Alice .. when she’s five feet tall

And if you go harassing holdouts
    And your quota may shortfall
Tell em a moppet sniffing POTUS
    Has given you the call
To vaxx Alice … or she’ll be blackballed

When men at the Health Board
Tell her to shoot up or stay home
And they just passed some kind of mandate
And her savings are running low
Then vaxx Alice … She wont day no

    When science and former freedoms
    Have fallen sloppy dead
And the Biden is talking asswards
And Pelosi is off her meds

REMEMBER .. what the Fauci taught
Just get the shot … just get the shot
    Just get the shot!!

    • Mike Austin September 30, 2021, 11:44 PM

Where’s Grace Slick when you need her?

  • Callmelennie October 1, 2021, 2:51 PM

Shes been cancelled from pop culture for refusing the vaccination. I wrote this in her honor

    Ya Think?
