Noted In Passing: Ann

9/11 hurts worse this year because many Americans are looking at the pictures of the burning buildings, the jumpers, and the piles of debris and saying to themselves for the first time, “Lucky…” Sit in stillness with that. | — Barnhardt

Slowly, gradually, in the near-silent whispers of the internal dialogue of millions of Americans, scripture and prophecy are being fulfilled. The living envy the dead. It was thought unthinkable for Americans to ever be in such a state in any significant numbers just a few months ago, and even in the days after 9/11 there was no sense of suicidal despair.

Now? As the inevitable civil war looms, and a murderous kakistocracy is the only organized force that is visible, with fully half the populace ready to call for the internment and blood of their own family members, the death of a civilization is visible like the towers burning on the New York Skyline.

And I praised the dead rather than the living:

And I judged him happier than them both, that is not yet born, nor hath seen the evils that are done under the sun.

et laudavi magis mortuos quam viventes;
et feliciorem utroque judicavi qui necdum natus est, nec vidit mala quae sub sole fiunt.

Ecclesiastes 4: 2-3

The truth is that it couldn’t go on. The abortion. The sodomy. The open hatred of Jesus Christ and His Holy Church. The relentless spreading of everything bad and poisonous and EVIL throughout the entire world through its anti-culture, its media, its governmental and financial corruption and coercion. It cannot go on. The evil cannot go on. And it won’t. Like the burning Towers, it can only end now with collapse. Will it hurt? Of course. Will people die? Yes, probably millions. But anyone who is still morally sane knows that it can’t go on. That it MUST not go on.

But don’t despair. Get yourself to safety, and if you have a proverbial boat, get to Lower Manhattan and help with the evacuation. Don’t envy the dead because for them it was “quick”. Thank God every day that you get to live, to help others, to fight the good fight, and to be able to praise God on earth, even through suffering, for one more day.

Thank God every day that you get to live, to help others, to fight the good fight, and to be able to praise God on earth, even through suffering, for one more day.

    In that vein –

The Lord is my light and my salvation–
    Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life–
of whom shall I be afraid?
When evil men advance against me
    to slander me
    when my enemies and my
    foes attack me,
    they will stumble and fall.
    Though an army besiege me,
    my heart will not fear,
    though war break out
    against me,
even then will I be confident.

    Psalm 27: 1-4

      Thank you, John Venlet.

One of the biggest problems I see is a widespread sense of futility. Is it apathy? Is it fear? Is it simply a sense of being overwhelmed? A combination of all of the above?

I have trouble relating to this mindset, as I have always been a fighter.
If anyone expects to win in battle they had better start from a position that is not defeatist, or losing will be the only result.

      and now wrap your head around this little piece of information;
“Meanwhile, Milley also had two ‘back-channel phone calls’ with China’s top general in the waning days of the Trump administration.

“Woodward and Costa also write that ‘some might contend that Milley had overstepped his authority and taken extraordinary power for himself,’ but he believed his actions were ‘a good faith precaution to ensure there was no historic rupture in the international order, no accidental war with China or others, and no use of nuclear weapons.’
“What’s more, Milley told China he’d warn them if the United States was going to attack!”

Go read the entire thing, here:
      https://www.zerohedge.com/political/book-reveals-gen-milley-secretly-sabotaged-trump-called-china-sparking-talk-treason
This S.O.B. should be brought before a Military Court, stripped of his rank, his pension and any other wealth he has gathered, flogged until bloody and then publicly hung by the neck until dead.

Barnhardt is correct. This can not go on….and it won’t.

Kevin, I just finished a book that you might like. It’s called “Bunker Hill: A City, A Siege, A Revolution”, by Nathaniel Philbrick. A very well researched history, it covers the period between the Boston Tea Party in 1774, through Lexington and Concord, through the Siege of Boston in 1776.

It’s impossible to read this and NOT think of the parallels to our time. For one thing, almost without exception the men we think of as Founding Fathers did not want a war with Britain. They all wanted self determination and self rule, many wanted an actual separation from the King, but except for just a few of them they all believed it could and should be done without bloodshed. Not too different from today I think.

Reading this has helped me stop feeling like we modern Americans are a nation of cowards or overly comfortable suburbanites who would do anything to avoid conflict. In reality I don’t think we are that different from our forefathers. We can’t see the future, and they certainly didn’t know what their next 6 years would bring. But looking back we can now see the revolution that was THEIR future, and the fact is sooner or later Good and Evil are going to fight. So I wouldn’t
worry, when the time comes, our compatriots will definitely do what’s necessary.

One other important takeaway. The Colonists (Philbrick calls them Patriots) were a very devout group, gathering to pray daily and twice daily on Sundays. More than once Providence played a major hand in their engagements with the British Regulars. Bunker Hill was a good example. I think that the fate of our country has hung by a thread many times in the past, the Civil War, Pearl Harbor, The Cuban Nukes, but every time God has found a way to pull us back from the brink. I believe that if we can hold true to our faith in God and in our constitution, we can depend on His help once again.

Finally, Philbrick tells how in battle the Patriots were wicked good shots! And they liked to take out the British officers first. That helped turn the tide as well!

Hang in there, we’re gonna be all right.

Good points. I’m going to look that one up.

  • Casey Klahn September 14, 2021, 12:00 PM

This scripture will come as a comfort. As I get ready to run errands, I hear in the news how Gen Milley (yours and my favorite general) may’ve conspired against trump in the final days of his presidency (that’s treason) and also that Norm MacDonald has died.
This after 9-11 and it’s all a big shit sandwich.

    • gwbnyc September 14, 2021, 5:18 PM

Norm’s headstone should be inscribed, “The light’s on.”

  • Dirk September 14, 2021, 12:21 PM

Evil, most will never experience evil, true evil. Will be zero questions about what you see, when you see real evil.

God, his church. God is good, his church,,,,,,, not so much. Religion is responsible for more deaths then any other. Communism IS a religion, Woke is a religion, Green is a religion . Protestant Catholic, Baptist, the others all arguing over who’s god is better.

I’m betting God gets a good laugh out of that.

I occasionally ask men of the cloth, from various denominations, if, upon arrival at the pearly gates, you will be quizzed on the dogmas of the denomination to which an individual belongs.

  • rabbit tobacco September 14, 2021, 12:35 PM

    Many denominations believe in God,
    but don’t believe God.

  • Dirk September 14, 2021, 2:54 PM

I’ve been down on organized religion since I got here. Within two weeks of my arrival on earth, they baptized me Catholic, not one soul asked me for my opinion. Been a sore loser ever since. Typical Catholic!

Actually, Dirk, you were baptized in the Name of the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit and pledged to the wholly catholic church. The rite of baptism just happened to take place in a Roman Catholic church. As someone brought up in the Protestant tradition, and baptized in a Protestant church, I do not find anything in The Catholic Rite of Baptism that would cause any follower of the teachings of Jesus Christ, no matter their denominational association, which is necessarily objectionable, or that decrees that since you were baptized in a Catholic church, you’re Catholic, so it’s not so bad as you imagine. I least that’s how I see it.

        An elegant response, that.

I just cut my morning browse through the bookmarks. Everything out there just fuels the anger, and there’s not a goddamn thing I can do to stop any of it. I read the anger, and frustration from Ghostsniper, Casey, Dirk, John Venlet- the whole crowd here, and at every other site and blog I visit. I got it seething in my gut.

My brother-in-law’s son’s wife just had a baby. The whole family is woke as hell, and I have very little contact with them. They posted a pic on facebarf of the mother, and father with child. Both mom and dad wore plague masks. (But they were Happy plague masks with a bright and colorful print.) I looked at that photo- the infant child, in his first hours of life, staring up into his mother’s face. And seeing no face. Just a blank muzzle. That is the very first impression that child will have of life. A faceless mother, a faceless father. The kid will grow up fed on television, social media, and progressive dogma. How many more like this? This is the future.

Ann wrote about the living envying the dead. And I understand. I am very glad that I’ll be gone before this child comes of age. I don’t see anything coming down the pike but more decline. I look at the time I have remaining to me, ask myself, “What is it that I can do? Is there something, anything I can do to beat back the darkness?”
Go to a protest? no. Go vote for Larry Elder? I did. Fat lotta good it’s going to do.

We simmer in the frustration, and anger until it becomes toxic, and poisons our every thought. Hone your knives, and pray.

    I try.

“Show me the way that you would have me follow. Teach me the path on which you would have me walk… Lord what would you have me do this day?”

I have stone. I have steel. Once the sun is up, I’m gonna’ take me a wake n’ bake, and put the steel to the stone. Make something pretty. I got nothing else.

    • John Venlet September 15, 2021, 8:03 AM

JWM, I wrote in comments here, once, that before my feet touch the floor after a night’s sleep, I recite Psalm 118:24, This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it., and then follow that up with The Lord’s Prayer. Now, realizing the despairing aspects of the world can damp this rejoicing down, but at least one can attempt to temper this by renewing their mind, which scripture informs us that The Counselor, the Holy Spirit, can do for us. Doing this may not always lift me up, but it puts the seed in my mind to not despair.

  • Dirk September 15, 2021, 7:10 AM

JWM, “ got nothing else”, disagree, you have life, far more good going on in life, then bad. Pet a dog, or a cat, watch mother nature’s birds and bees, life is so so good, apologies if what I pen gets you down. What I write is kinda selfish, I’m writing to myself, more then to others.

    Living IS Winning.

    To The Stone-Cutters
    by Robinson Jeffers

Stone-cutters fighting time with marble, you fore-defeated
    Challengers of oblivion
Eat cynical earnings, knowing rock splits, records fall down,
    The square-limbed Roman letters
Scale in the thaws, wear in the rain. The poet as well
    Builds his monument mockingly:
For man will be blotted out, the blithe earth dies, the brave sun
    Die blind, his heart blackening:
Yet stones have stood for a thousand years, and pained thoughts found
The honey peace in old poems.

Jesus told us this stuff would occur and I always believed Him. And for some reason, even when I was a kid, I carried the nagging idea that the generations of my life might see the actual fulfillment of the events that we’re watching unfold every moment of every day. The energy of it all is tactile and I don’t fear it but I am concerned for young folks of my daughters’ age and character (25-30) who don’t have the developed intuitive senses of their parents. I warn them in subtle ways because I don’t want them to worry but I advise them to watch closely and pay attention and I hope that advice takes but they are gentle young women, far more concerned with giving and attending bridal and baby showers while hoping for the advent of Mr. Right, than they are anything else.

Jesus promised that He will return and millions of believers seem to take that promise as a hope that will save them, His elect, from what He promised would be Hell on earth. And within the context that surely they will be delivered in advance from the things coming upon the World, those same folks seem to have no plan within themselves to fight for their lives and do all that they can to send their oppressors into eternity.

Some strange conjunction of the Planets: Ann Barnhardt (*) is sounding sane (well sane-er) and Ms Hoyt is making bat soup in her belfry.

Still would like to see a Reality TV Show where she’s (AB) sewn into a sack with Ben Shapiro and shaken all about.

  • Jewel September 18, 2021, 1:56 PM

Ann’s always been sane. It’s the stuff she has to write about that’s insane.
