Bingo, Gerard. Your comment is spot on. Thanks for the insight. Pray that Scalia, Roberts, Thomas, and Alito survive until we get this clown out of the White House.
God help us.
And keep your powder dry.
Posted by dhmosquito at July 2, 2009 7:11 PMHimmler understood his role was to craft a narrative for effect; he relished the sleight of hand, and gloried in the physical option.
He believed in the message, and implicitly and explicitly ruled out any ethical brake at all on making the message the reality.
Mr. Gibbs, on the other hand, is just hired help. Somebody who got to where he is by being attracted to power. Somebody who deep, deep, down, thinks that things are going to go his way because that the way the world is supposed to work.
Not somebody who understands the first thing about people, or history, or power.
He's either too stupid or too scared to quit. No bet on which it is.
This time next week, he'll rate his own scathing editorials in the Post or the Times. Watch.
Mr. Obama has hacked the foundations of the republic with reckless abandon; the edifice - the monetary part, at least - totters waiting for the fatal breeze. Contract law, capitalism, checks and balances... all under massive strain.
And the sun comes up every morning around six.
What will Gibbs say on a day the market drops five hundred points.... for the third day running?
Who will chuckle then?
It's not about crafting a utopia. It's about bringing down the present system.
It's the only way any of this makes sense.
Posted by TmjUtah at July 2, 2009 8:28 PMWow. This guy is *exactly* like one of our IT guys in his imperious condescending demeanor. Maybe it is some de rigueur lifestyle choice. Anyway, our IT guy is not allowed to speak in public.

A fine, fine usage of some ugly words.
Love it when you talk dirty.
@ TimjUtah - I'm always pressing my son as to his opinion of B. Hussein's ultimate goal. He just looks at me.
Posted by Cathy at July 3, 2009 7:00 AMIt is my experience that what a man's underlings are like tells us a lot about him. Do you get the feeling that while Barack Obama is playing JFK, he's channeling Richard Nixon?
Posted by Alan Kellogg at July 3, 2009 12:12 PMWhat a smart ass! Where I come from, if Gibbs pulled that shit, he'd get his ass kicked. It ain't much of a man who stands behind the protection of his position and pulls stunts like this.
And, what is almost as sad is how the MSM just caves in to this shit. Helen Thomas is no spring chicken ... if anyone could thump his ass, it's her. Too bad she doesn't do it!
