Such contempt for homosexuals, identical to their contempt for blacks; for these leftist homophobes are proclaiming that if you are a homosexual who thinks there are more important issues than redefining marriage, you are a bad person. No similar demand is made of "normal" people, who are permitted to join this or that party based upon a hierarchy of values.

Posted by Lileks at October 5, 2006 11:34 AMAlthough shy in such exalted commenting company, I feel I must point out another truly bizarre double standard of the leftists castigating Foley et al. They're on the case not only for the actual or attempted abuse of minors but because somehow the parents of these boys weren't allowed to check off on the relationship.
But how is this different for girls the same age, who any good leftist will insist have a "right" to get an birth control or an abortion without parental knowledge or consent? They consider it a near hanging offense that anyone knew about and ignored TEXT MESSAGES to teen boys while approving of Planned Parenthood's activities, which undoubtedly sometimes conceal statutory rape of teen girls?
Hierarchy of values indeed.
Posted by AskMom at October 5, 2006 2:04 PMAfter the Aunt Jamima/Uncle Tom racist crap, should we really be suprized?
At one time, this was the party of slavery. Why shouldn't we expect them to be morally shifty when their pet sacred cows are getting tipped? Same party, different sacred cows.

Posted by Cousin Dupree at October 5, 2006 8:29 PMI never liked that David Corn to begin with. He's got a sleazy look about him. And what happened to his lips -- the man has no lips.
I've sent him a link to www.cox2008.com/video so he can see what a real moral man looks like. John Cox is running for the GOP presidential nomination and he's running as a real conservative who's not playing by the liberal-left's rules. We need more conservatives like that.
Posted by JimKouri at October 6, 2006 3:52 AMCorn's got zero credibility after making an ass of himself over Plamegate. He really can't be taken seriously. On the guy you're talking about, Cox, he ought to cause a stir if he can get a big enough following in Iowa. A tax on consumption rather than income, comprehensive immigration reform...seems like there's alot to like about him--now if the donors and party bigwigs feel the same way...
Posted by Brandon at October 6, 2006 9:23 AMIf the Dems turn out to be responsible for this brouhaha, they have set the Gay Movement back by at least a dozen years. They've given renewed impetus to the gay=pedophile belief that had almost gone away.
Posted by opine6 at October 7, 2006 8:09 PMMr. Simon will have to show he coined "Masturgate" before October 1. That's when I included it in a post on my blog, which I cross-posted to Daily Kos.
Just sayin'.

I think gay 'activists' did that on their own. The Dems just closed the deal.
