75% of the fortune 500 companies are either foreign owned or are using foreign employees (hb1 & hb2 visas). This is the case with 100% of the tech companies. The billionaires have taken over US businesses and it will be impossible to break their iron grip.
Unless there is a huge uptick in smaller regional companies expect the US to be just another cog in the globalist wheel by 2030 or so.
Trump could conceivably help break this cycle but the billionaires Boy's Club will resist strongly.
"Instead, he wants to grow the pie much larger, but also keep more at home."
The pie cannot be grown unless the government gets out of the way of wealth producing businesses (farming, mining, timber, oil & gas, power production, manufacturing, etc.). Think about what the Endangered Species Act and the EPA have done to all those activities. Practically made them criminal. Wealth doesn't come from banking, insurance, stock exchanges, retail businesses, entertainment, government "investment," etc. Those activities are the way wealth is distributed throughout society. I believe Trump knows this. If he said it out loud, the outcry from the left enviro-weenies would be even worse than it is now.
It is indeed possible to grow the economy/pie. In fact it is easy to do. Throw out most of the regulations of the past 8-20 years, cut business taxes (I mean slash the hell out of business taxes), roll back the H1b (and other similar porgrams) and renegotiate our trade agreements. The problem is that all of these are someone's sacred cow. Rich elitists have paid for these regulations and taxes that favor them and they won't be happy if our politicians don't continue to play for pay. That's why we cannot afford to elect the crazy commie bitch.
BASIC ECONOMICS by Thomas Sowell should be mandatory reading for junior high schools and Congress. Easy to understand economics lessons in small digestible chunks. Sowell is genius.
As for the Budweiser commercial. Great marketing. I haven't bought Bud in a long time, but soon will be to get that can! AMERICA!
Gas prices at the shell station in my neighborhood were $2.01.9 yesterday. Some stinky big corporate mess is coming down the pike again. On the other hand, I can drive to my mothers for half the price...
