How about that - somebody who actually cares about the victims as people for a change, and not just as props for their social agendas.
Posted by Punditarian at November 20, 2014 12:51 PMI live across the river from Washington DC and black people in DC are continually shot and killed by other blacks, mostly on weekends. It's so common it doesn't even make the front page of the Washington Post, usually ends up on page 3 of the metro section. Nobody cares as long as it's blacks killing blacks but if a white kills a black then the story is on the front page.
Posted by Ray at November 20, 2014 1:20 PMRead the comments at Maggies Farm to find out about this cop
Posted by bgarrett at November 20, 2014 2:09 PMIn John Gregory Dunne's elegiac memoir, "Vegas," he writes about what the police called a "West Side misdemeanor."
Real evidence of real progress is the fact that this white police chief actually cares about "West Side misdemeanors."
Evidently, according to the commenters at Maggie's Farm, he subscribes to mistaken ideas about firearms.
But he can be better educated about that. He does seem to care about people, though.
Posted by Punditarian at November 20, 2014 2:22 PMMay I add, that the Sheriff of Milwaukee County, David Clarke, is a very good guy on the subjects of crime and guns.
Posted by Punditarian at November 20, 2014 2:33 PMThis is the kind of PC [police chief] we need more of. The PC we've been force fed [pusillanimous corruption] has most of the country sick and its time to expel that undigested excrement onto the corrupters.
Posted by Stug Guts at November 20, 2014 3:03 PMAnd this is why Milwaukee liberals hate Police Chief Flynn and Sheriff Clarke.
Posted by pst314 at November 20, 2014 4:11 PMIf Scott Walker runs for president, this guy should be his Attorney General.
Wisconsin seems to be generating a pretty interesting new breed of public officials.
Posted by El Polacko at November 20, 2014 4:33 PM@Stug Guts, you need to go read the comments about that jackboot here:
http://maggiesfarm.anotherdotcom.com/archives/25280-Ferguson-could-use-a-top-cop-like-this-guy.html#comments
I read an article about that tyrant about a month or so ago that supports what the commentors are saying. Fuk em ded.
One may disagree with Chief Flynn’s opinions on Second Amendment Rights (and I suspect I do, too, after having read commentary over at Maggie’s Farm) but otherwise, his comments here are SPOT ON. The bottom line is that blacks are playing politics and neglecting the self-serving murderous proclivities that their inner-city gangs exhibit, while otherwise inappropriately emphasizing police self-defense killings (a mere _fraction_ of the day-to-day black-on-black killings) of blacks who are breaking the law and are attacking officers of the law. Think Micheal Brown/Ferguson, MO. And clowns like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton then play this up, and Democrats and their fellow travelers capitalize on those extremist views to ensure that “low-information voters” get other clowns like Barack Obama into office. I'm sick of this crap.
For a bit there I thought that reporter woman had a silly hat made of flowers.
And cops and 2nd amendment, yeah most of them are not great on self defense rights and bearing arms.
Posted by Christopher Taylor at November 20, 2014 9:48 PMFlynn can't be an Everyman. His job and rank limit him. The agenda of his political bosses limits him.
Better he is in the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in.
His position and values are on track concerning the disparity and injustice of Blacks, Whites, and Police.
What I hear him saying is that Cops aren't the enemy, Whites aren't the enemy, Blacks are doing it to themselves and trying to blame everyone else ("wasn't me boss, I'se just mindin' mah own business yassir yassir")
His position on gun control and Second Amendment is not good. He cannot justify his thoughts and actions about those issues, other than to say he is just following orders.
We know how that turns out.
Bravo, Chief....speak the truth and not a single reply or follow up question.
Posted by Tim at November 21, 2014 5:32 AMIt's easy to characterize his 2d Amendment stance as wrong, but he can't know if the next traffic stop will contain a white guy going to the mall or a black felon looking for a cop to kill. It pretty hard to make a variety of distinctions over weaponry. I know police are trained to make those split second decisions, but I'm also pretty sure each policeman wants to go home in one piece tonight.
Posted by Susan Lee at November 21, 2014 6:38 AMI get the 2nd Amendment issues folks, but focusing on Flynn's seeming opinion (he specifically objects to such guns in the hands of felons, listen to the clip again), reminds me of the brouhaha over Matt Taylor's goofy comet landing shirt.
Perspective, folks, perspective and a little nuance.
Posted by Don Rodrigo at November 21, 2014 8:10 AM@ghostsniper -- I stand corrected. Thank you. My enthusiasm for the video clip comments should not have justified overall approval for him.
Posted by Stug Guts at November 21, 2014 10:38 AMLooks like a whole buncha people got their heads in their collective asses regarding this jackboot.
He makes his living off of ignoring YOUR property rights, your right to your life as you see fit.
His right to go home safe at night does not supercede your right to do likewise and that Nurenberg silliness is just that.
Perspective my pimply ass.

Aw, c'mon grouchsniper. There has to be something good about this cop's actions.
It's like he'll be wrong whatever he does.
Maybe he shoulda been a fireman.
Jus' sayin'.
Posted by chasmatic at November 21, 2014 11:12 PM@Chas, I agree. He shoulda.
