Is gaul French for gall?Posted by teresa at July 25, 2009 3:51 PM
Unless he has three wives, six concubines and seventy seven children, what the hell does he use all that space for?Posted by ligneus at July 25, 2009 4:14 PM
That's why it's gaul, Ligneus...Posted by Julie at July 25, 2009 5:07 PM
Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres...the servants' quarters, the Muffy and my quarters, and the south forty. Ain't green grand?Posted by Old Dad at July 25, 2009 5:57 PM

Perhaps you meant De Gaul, and I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't well paid as a Saudi fellator.Posted by Jewel at July 25, 2009 6:06 PM
Looks to me like he must be one of them evil rich folks we're supposed to hate.Posted by ELC at July 25, 2009 8:29 PM
Thanks, Jewel, I needed that.Posted by vanderleun at July 25, 2009 9:15 PM

I just put target coordinates on that thing, didn't the rest of you?
It was like an instant reflex. How much is a predator drone, anyway? Considering how many houses like this one need to be smithereened, it would be a superb investment, and the best way to pay for it would be to hack into the bank accounts of all these malignant buttwipes who forgot what system of economic freedom allowed them to get rich.Posted by Roderick Reilly at July 27, 2009 9:59 AM
I have no problem whatsoever with Tom's palace grounds -- more power to him, I wish I were that wealthy. I have a major problem, though, when wealthy peeps like Friedman presume to lecture the "rest of us" on any subject approaching conservation.
Give it all to charity, Tom. Go live in a one-room cabin somewhere, and then get back to us. Maybe you'll have some creds at that point.Posted by JBean at July 27, 2009 10:05 AM
Ann and Thomas Friedman live in Bethesda, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. The July 2006 issue of Washingtonian reported that they own "a palatial 11,400-square-foot (1,060 m2) house, currently valued at $9.3 million, on a 7½-acre parcel just blocks from I-495 and Bethesda Country Club." Friedman is paid $75,000 per speaking engagement. (Wikipedia)Posted by arnie at July 31, 2009 1:49 AM
