Noted While Drinking

ONE COCKTAIL puts you into low orbit around the Planet Me. Two cocktails degrades that orbit. Three... check for chunks in your wings, you've become the Columbia.

While this is certainly true to an extent, I would venture that it is also somewhat relative to your specific fuel mixture and your physical aerodynamics.

I had a distant relative who turned into Voyager I on just one drink.

To me, the best (and worst) thing about cocktail parties is that a few sips from one drink scramble the speech centers in my brain now. Doesn't matter what it is, either. I used to be able to drink many people under the table. Sobriety bites. (Actually it's getting too old and sensible that bites. :-)

An alcoholic walks into a bar advertising, all you can drink for one dollar. He steps up to the bar and says, "give me two dollars worth".

One is just right, two are too many, three are not enough.
