Song was written by Stephin Merritt, from his album "69 Love Songs". Merritt writes some interesting lyrics and rhyming moon and June might just kill him.

I don't know if there's a YouTube video of it but Cheryl Bentyne (of "Manhattan Transfer") covers this on her disc "Book of Love" (surprise!) and out does Gabriel in a close harmony rendition. It is quite exquisite.
