U.S. job losses spike in June, dampen recovery hopes WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. employers cut far more jobs than expected last month and the unemployment rate hit a nearly 26-year high of 9.5 percent, underscoring the likelihood of a long and slow recovery from recession.

That was certainly stimulating. Probably did more good for the economy that TARP.

How this Liverpudlian upstart continues to get away with such pap is still a source of wonderment to me. Obviously no limits to the gullibility of the pop music audience. The only one of that quartet who had real talent was George Harrison - the rest were leeches. Mc Cartney is a trite poseur and will continue to put his head up any political ass that opens its cheeks. Uggghhh!

I can't recall where I saw it, but the rate is closer to 13%; they stopped counting the unemployed who have given up looking.
