MSMaholics Hitting Bottom

It seems that more and more Americans are watching the dwarfs of television news less and less: 'CBS Evening News' Ties All-Time Low .

The network newscast ratings for last week are in and "CBS Evening News with Katie Couric" tied its all-time low in total viewers with an average of 4.89 million tuning in during the five days. The low was set last June, when ABC also hit its own low. (Ratings records date back to the 1991-'92 season.) Last week, NBC averaged 7.42 million total viewers and ABC averaged 6.51 million.

Keep in mind that Couric has been sucking down millions for her part in this race to the bottom. What can be causing the unremitting nausea and turning away of the public? Maybe it's her talent for coming up with items like this:

That's Hope N Change's take on Couric's recent eructation in the aptly titled CBS Evening Noose. The artist comments:

According to Katie Couric on the rarely-watched CBS Evening News, "there is a debate to be had about the sensitivity of building (the Cordoba House mosque) so close to Ground Zero." And we agree. Unfortunately, she kept talking - saying "But we can not let fear and rage tear down the towers of our core American values."

Did she really just refer to "sensitivity," and in the very next sentence equate those who are concerned about a mosque at Ground Zero with the radical Islamic terrorists who destroyed the World Trade Center towers and killed over 3000 Americans?

She did, and she has, and she will.

Drive them fast to their tomb.

If someone is dumb enough to watch TV "news" that someone deserves to be confused and manipulated.

Think about one area of life you have special interest in; your job, some hobby, what it's like to live in a resort area all year. Whatever that area of deep knowledge is in compare it to how that item is portrayed in the media. OK, that yawning gap between TV and reality holds true for everything on TV and nobody who recognizes the disparity between real life and TV ought to ever let the manipulators back into their head.

It could be as simple to save this country as people turning off their TV. Even if you think you are smart enough to avoikd the manipulation, you are contributing to the audience sizes that allow TV con-men to charge advertisers for insulting you.

Like the Texas bumper sticker said back during the Arab oil embargo, "freeze a yankee in the dark." This time starve a media big shot in the heat.

Can we airlift them there instead?

I'm thinking a C-130 full of the shits at 8,000 feet 100 miles off the Atlantic coast, the back ramp open, and the pilot in a steep climb.
