More amps?
Posted by: Charlie Martin at March 6, 2012 6:58 PMTell you what, anyone who buys a electric car with the federal rebate of $7,500 should be required to give a free ride to any taxpaying US citizen who wants one, and the same goes for Sandra Fluke.
Posted by: John the River at March 7, 2012 9:42 AMThere is never any discussion of the infrastructure required for electric vehicles. Urban condominium dwellers would be the type of people open to buying such vehicles--they're open to innovation, saving green spaces by living more densely, etc. But the estimated cost of preparing a parking stall for an electric vehicle in a condo is at least $2,200 according to the local utility provider in the province where I live.
Replacing gas with hydro power will also mean more dams will need to be built in order to harness the power. How is that better environmentally than continuing to use gas?
Posted by: Gloria at March 7, 2012 11:32 AMIn the end, Gloria, it is not about the environment, it is about control and about who has the power. The Statists want to force us to be dependent on the State and the State alone so we have no choice except to do as we are told. For our own good, of course.
Everything else -- global warming, racism, health insurance, housing and all the rest -- are just means to an end. The end is to force us into a corner and make us good little sheep.

Don't worry about the infrastructure. A fairly wealthy acquaintance bought one of those subsidized Volts. His garage was outfitted (courtesy of "we the taxpayers") with the proper outlet. I bet that makes you feel as good as I felt when he first told me.
What we really need is more Ohms. Support the Resistance!
Posted by: Dr. Weevil at March 8, 2012 3:15 PMHey what about me? I did a parody of the Chevy Volt, too. It's a takeoff on "Little GTO" called "Little Chevy Volt" It's getting a strong reception on the website where i posted it
