Why? Because he can....

This jet-powered go kart is basically a fire breathing monster on wheels

Life demanded it so the mad genius that is Colin Furze delivered a jet-powered go kart that can go as fast as cars on a highway. The jet-powered go kart is so ridiculous it basically spits out fire while you drive it. I mean, the metal pipes turns orange because it burns so hot. What a beast.

"So it’s finished and it’s brilliant, it’s stable it starts easy and the fuel system after a slight redesign (see website) works perfectly. Top speed so far is 60mph but i run out of airstrip so might be more in it."

It only looks dangerous. As you can see he is wearing a safety tie he doesn't need a helmet...

When I was 10 I raced a go kart with (2) 11hp McCulloch 2 cycle engines and it did more than 60 mph. This jet thing should do way more than that.

Hey ghost, this "vehicle" has nothing to do with top end performance.

This is all about playing with FAYUURRE!!! Great gobs of fire!

Hey, when you were a kid, didn't you want your very own WWII flamethrower? Me too!

Better than that, I think it's a pulse-jet, which makes it in the same league with a V-2 rocket.

To the bone.

I've never seen someone so ardently vying for a Darwin Award before.

Daredevil stuff.
It reminds me of the guy that gets shot out of a cannon at the fair, or Evel Knievel jumping 'most anything.
Adrenaline junkies have a jones like no other.
I bet his speedometer (if he has one) has two speeds: flat out and fuckit.

Part of me wants to say that guy has courage, I wish I had that. The other part of me says he's a fool.

3 or 4 of those adrenaline junkies just offed themselves "BASE" jumping off cliffs last weekend. I don't guess I've ever been that bored.

Loved it. The pulse jet construction method was cool, basically inflating a steel balloon with water, and I spent the next two hours reading about valveless pulse jets trying to figure out how they worked. Thanks for the find.

A Pulse Jet engine would've been the V-1 "Buzz Bomb".

The V-2 was the Von Braun designed, liquid fueled ballistic missile, which was a pure hyperglolic, (bianary fuel, self-oxidizing, (not requiring atmospheric oxygen) rocket. It followed a ballistic arc, ascending to as much as 70 miles altitude, before descending upon (usually) London, at approximately Mach 2 speeds.

The kart looks hella fun though!
