Faust. Was this the face that launched a thousand ships
And burnt the topless towers of Ilium?
Sweet, make me immortal with a kiss. [Kisses her.]
Her lips suck forth my soul; see where it flies! --
Come, come, give me my soul again.
-- Marlowe, Christopher. Doctor Faustus.
One is speaking, of course, of our latter day Helen of Troy, ye right honorable first beard first lady of the Disunited States, Michelle Obama. Her "official" second term portrait was just released and is provided here as source material. (Standard "can't unsee the seen" warning applies.) Play nice.

Posted by: Uncle Kenny at February 20, 2013 3:10 PMI can't join the people who mock her appearance, she looks OK; but for God's sake why must we all suffer the burdens of her idiotic unAmerican ideas and her even more evil and tyrannical husband?
When I think about the vast stupidity and ignorance that put these people in this position .... our country is truly mentally ill, culturally diseased.
They and their ancient kind are damaging not just us, but the entire world.
Please O God, get these monsters out of our lives!!

Posted by: David McKinnis at February 20, 2013 5:59 PMCould you please enlighten a poor ignorant foreigner as to which clause of your glorious constitution authorizes the expenditure of tax money on "Official Photographs" of an unelected person? For expensive vacations for a relative of an elected person?

Posted by: bob sykes at February 20, 2013 6:27 PMAll things considered, she actually cleans up pretty well.
Proving again that beauty is only skin deep, while ugly goes clear through to the bone.
Honestly, I would never guess that she could have such a pleasant face, ever. Never mind the idea of it cracking her skin.
Posted by: Larry Sheldon at February 20, 2013 6:56 PMAt least we don't turn to stone when we see her visage.

Posted by: Fat Man at February 20, 2013 7:44 PMMy first thought was alarm. In part it was the glass eye, then the overwhelming amount of lip gloss. Could she of chosen a prettier top? It looks like a jersey t-shirt.

Posted by: Arlene at February 20, 2013 9:24 PMShe must be getting ready to go on the Jerry Springer show with her new wig.
Posted by: Clara Belle at February 20, 2013 9:52 PMThat may look like a jersey she's wearing, but I bet she spent $2000-$5000 on it.
You know, we all have to have some skin in the game.
Posted by: MWTexas at February 21, 2013 6:37 AMThose painted on eyebrows are hideous.
For those of you who think she's attractive...your standards are too low. Woof.
