Going Up!

Suckers! [And I mean that in a bad way]

A friend reports receiving the latest invoice for their high-deductible catastrophic health insurance yesterday. Last month it was a bit over $600. Now, to make hay while the sun sets on their industry, the new monthly premium will be over $900. Who says insurance companies can't accurately assess future risk to themselves and set premiums accordingly?

Elsewhere via Doug Ross:

"So I just got a call from my health insurance provider. My family rates are going up $200/month ... $2400/year per employee effective April 1st. Didn't take long after signing to get this s**t going. -- That Didn't Take Long.... - The Market Ticker
Only the beginning folks. Only the beginning.

Of course, many will say "That's just those rapacious insurance companies raising rates because they can and Obamacare has nothing to do with it." Now that may well be true, but in this Brave New World it doesn't matter. From the moment this passed, Obama and the Democrats OWN every single penny of premium increase from now until repeal. To reverse the French saying, "Never a thorn without a rose."

and he'll throw evil profit-makers into jail a la chavez/castro/lenin.

he will venezuelize our economy if we let him...

What else would anyone expect when the insurance industry helped craft the bill.

B...B..But that's impossible! The Democrats aren't beholden to special interest group lobbyists.
