Something Wonderful: Oh Dear, We're Just About Out of Pie

Americans at Their Very Best: Why this isn't clocking upwards of a million views on YouTube is beyond me. Stick around for the slo-mo instant replay.

"This pie fight was held the day before my sister's wedding to celebrate the occasion. In all, 78 pies (54 Lemon Meringue and 24 Boston Cream Pies) were disposed of in approximately 78 seconds! "

Is this some kind of family tradition? It looks like a whole lotta messy fun, but absolute sacrilege to ruin so many Boston Cream Pies. :)

August 12, 2009 would have been my Mom's 99th birthday and this is the type of party she could get into, as long as she was assured someone else would clean up. Now me, I would have grabbed a Boston Cream Pie and bogarted behind a tree or something.

The poor little red-headed gal who stood back and watched it all in apparent bewilderment is probably emotionally scarred for life. But then - when you people elected Obama as your President, it had a similar effect on me; I just couldn't believe collective madness could reach that level - and I've seen some shit come down in my life.

Did you notice the little red haired girl crying ?
I'm afraid as a kid I would have reacted like that to adults acting like kids.
Did the two joining sides dislike each other and this got it out of their systems.
The bride to be head jerked back after being hit with the pie. She must be a good sport.

I was hoping at least one of the two babes in the dark green(?) strapless dresses was going to fall out of her top at some point. That would have been my idea of good, clean fun - with pie!!

I only watched it three times, but I'm pretty sure they didn't, unless it was when they were behind the stunned Kerry/Obama-voter in the grey windbreaker who stood there throughout the whole thing.

Strange that many of our first thoughts were regarding the little red-headed girl....
