Sorry to burst anybody's bubble, but the greatest pizza in the world was my mom's. Born in Abruzzi in 1908, she made hers with tomatoes (not sauce), spices, no mozzarella (which she considered an Americanization), and no peperoni (which she considered an abomination. If she was feeling wild and crazy, some anchovies might find their way on.
