McCain: Just Because Ifill's a pistol packin' mama doesn't mean she'll shoot.

Gwen Ifill discusses here forthcoming book, The Breakthrough

John McCain discusses Gwen Ifill

"I think that Gwen Ifill is a professional and I think that she will do a totally objective job because she is a highly respected professional," McCain said during an interview at the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum. "€œDoes this help -- if she has written a book that's favorable to Senator Obama? Probably not. But I have confidence that Gwen Ifill will do a professional job and I have that confidence."

I've said it before and now I'll say it again:

If I was a cynical man I'd say that McCain, looking into the near future of the job he's applying for, has said: "Ah, I think I'll pass."

Gwen Ifil is in the tank for Obama. That is not news, and not a surprise. All the rest of the "moderators" are liberal stooges too. You odds improve tremendously if you know who your enemies are.

Gerard,
In my low moments I have to agree with you. There are dozens of lame demo-points at which McCain could apply some backbone that would net him millions of votes.

Exhibit A: McCain puts up with Whoopi's utterly trashy and vulgar insinuation that Republicans - i.e., McCain - would bring back slavery:

Why McCain didn't get up and walk out on this worthless frivolity, this trashing of our sacred historical sacrifice, the cost in hundreds and thousands of white and black young lives that shed their blood to end the blight of slavery in America, that it was the Republican party that led the charge, and that Whoopi as a mult-millionaire on the receiving end of every American generosity and success has no business to blabber like this...I don't know.

Instead he nods and mumbles about taking her seriously...it's really a disgusting grovel on McCain's part = after all he has been through. What happened to his manhood here?
