Nancy Pelosi called Harry Reid into her office one day and said, "Harry, I have a plan to win back Middle America in 2014!"

"Great Nancy, but how?" asked Harry.

"We'll get some cheesy clothes and shoes, like most Middle Class Americans
wear, then stop at the pound and pick up a Labrador retriever. Then, we'll go to a nice old country bar in Montana and show them how much admiration and respect we have for the hard working people living there."

So they did, and found just the place they were looking for in
Bozeman, Montana. With the dog in tow, they walked inside and stepped up to the bar.

The Bartender took a step back and said, "Hey! Aren't you Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi?"

"Yes we are!" said Nancy, "And what a lovely town you have here. We were passing through and Harry suggested we stop and take in some local color."

They ordered a round of bourbon for the whole bar, and started chatting up a storm with anyone who would listen.

A few minutes later, a grizzled old rancher came in, walked up to the
Labrador, lifted up its tail, looked underneath, shrugged his shoulders and walked out. A few moments later, in came another old rancher. He walked up to the dog, lifted up its tail, looked underneath, scratched his head and left the bar.

For the next hour, another dozen ranchers came in, lifted the dog's tail,
and left shaking their heads.

Finally, Nancy asked, "Why did all those old ranchers come in and look under the dog's tail? Is it some sort of custom?"

"Lord no," said the bartender. "Someone's out there running around town, claiming there's a Labrador Retriever in here with two assholes!"

from Obama(Romney)Care to "legalizing" illegal cheap labor, there isn't a thing the Tyrant has done that the Republicrats privately object to. In public? Moan, groan, squawk, all sound and fury signifying nothing

Is there anybody reading this stuff that still believes if only we had elected:
•Tea Party
•Penguins for a Gun-free Antarctica
•Sarah Palin
•Donald Trump
•all of the above
•none of the above

that all our troubles would go away?

“The people in power will not disappear voluntarily.” Burroughs

Tar & feathers, military putsch, political coup, lynch mobs, state secession ala 10th Amendment, we have ways of dealing with this.
All of them require us to get up off the couch, stop whining, get guns in hand and boots on feet and DO IT.

In the meantime I will be within my perimeter prepared to shoot any uninvited persons that get inside the wire.

...Hillary Clinton, Elisabeth Warren, George Soros, mentioned as "un-named co-conspirators".

Gerard, you're such a tease.

What can I say? It's my nature.

Posted by: vanderleun at November 20, 2014 7:04 AM

Oh, if only. With the re-election of O-----, I think gruber was right, the folks (at least dems) are indeed stupid.

Posted by: tripletap at November 20, 2014 7:37 AM

Chas is right, but somebody has to start. I'm talking about the Claire Wolf thing.

Who, and where, do you start?

My take is that the gov't will gradually become irrelevant. It has made life difficult for most and very difficult for many. So folks are figuring out how to make it on their own, without gov't support and in spite of it. This sort of lifestyle is tantamount to being an outlaw with danger all around. But you have to survive, you just have to. So you walk softly, scrounge what you can, and ever keep that big stick handy for the highwaymen and their snitches are everywhere.

How does this end?

The journey has no end, and make no mistake, it IS a journey. The past 200+ years has only been the most recent leg of the endless trip. The next 200 years will be different, largely of your own make up. Or you can be led by the nose. I suspect most folks will do the latter as long as they can endure it and then they will see others prevailing and do the same.

Slowly, carefully, secretly, do what you must, stay below the radar, trust almost no one. Survive. Flourish. And when you can, stick it in deep and snap it off. Never disregard an opportunity to extinct a tyrant or assistant. The thug you kill today won't haunt you tomorrow.

Ha ha! That would be great!

Would be better news if it also had an article about lots of congressmen committing suicide knowing that they were going to be implicated as well.

Porretto wrote a great piece entitled "When It Came" about five years back. This would have been a good graphic.

Posted by: goy at November 20, 2014 6:58 PM

goy, I'm not sure I hope Poretto is wrong about the future.
As you've advised before in somewhat different context and terms--
"You will shortly meet my successor in this office. She's a woman of sterling character and considerable accomplishment. She's been an honest official throughout her public life. I entreat you: Don't trust her. Keep her honest. Keep her associates honest. Keep her agents honest..."
-- from Poretto's short story about our possible near future.
